Jets 9-7 Pats 8-8 Bills 8-8 Dolphins 5-11 Jets win the division and host a playoff game. My reasons in no particular order. - Jets D will be nasty. Mosley will be back. Q won’t play hurt anymore. Secondary is rebuilt. Greg Williams now has game tape on Josh Allen and Fitzy. Jets D will let us win close games. - Jets Offensive Line is much improved. Bell isn’t going to be rusty anymore. Darnold had another year under his belt and will finally start a season with same coaching staff. - Jets added an epic Punter. He will be a difference maker.
We'd be blessed with an entire board of optimism if the schedule outlook wasn't so grim. Fortunately for all of us, the way the schedule looks right now in May is rarely the reality of how the NFL will go. One thing we have going for us is a young talented quarterback going into his third season and the second in the same system that he looked pretty comfortable in. Working for him and against him at the same time is that he will have a pretty much entirely new supporting cast. We'll see. I think we're looking at 9-7 square in the face. With a couple good breaks and some good coaching we can make the push to 10-6 ala the 2006 Jets. I haven't felt this confident that we'll be in every game competitively since 2012. So it'll at least be a fun season to watch. Cheers @Brook!. Good thread.
I think our offense will still be a work in progress, as Darnold will have 2 new receivers and a bunch of new linemen. I don’t think they will look inept, but I doubt they’ll be clicking on all cylinders early on. For the Jets to have a solid record, there needs to be a few easier matchups early in the year so there isn’t a deficit, otherwise things might spiral. If they can sit around .500 and look ok, I believe there will be a good finish to the year even if it is against tougher opponents. If we get hit with Chiefs/49ers/Bills off the bat and start 0-3, I think things could get ugly.
So to answer the question, Bills: 10-6 Jets: 9-7 (Wildcard) Patriots: 9-7 (Misses Playoffs Losing Tiebreaker to Jets) Dolphins: 6-10
Bills 10-6 Cheats 9-7 Dolphins 5-11 Jets 5-11 We say goodbye to Gase and hello to HC Williams and a new OC and the best WR in the next draft and a plethora of other talents on top, we then go on to win the AFCE in 2021/22 season at a canter and beyond
I pretty much agree with this prediction of standings. Don't get me wrong, I think we have strengthened the roster, but the teams we face during the season are better too and it looks a tough schedule. I doubt we will have a coach change but the roster looks much better than the previous year, which is the most important thing.
Cheats will finish in front of Bills. Bills will come down to earth. Wanna bet? Loser will buy the other Fish and Chips in London next time Jets play there.
Williams is not HC material either. That ship has sailed. If Gase is gone then we need to do much better than another retread HC. Now the Jets final record I do agree with you on, although maybe they get to 6-7 wins max.
Jets: Our team is better but our schedule is tougher and our travel schedule is a killer. 7-9 Bill: Good team except their QB looks for his primary read then takes off running. He's no Lamar Jackson and it will catch up to him. Plus they have the same tough sch we have. 7-9 Fish: Lots of good draft picks but big ??? at QB. 6-10 Pats: Good D but no offense. No QB and no WRs. Time has run out. 6-10 Jets make the POs with a losing record. The team jells at the right time and we reach the AFCCG.
Bills: 10-6 Jets: 9-7 Pats: 8-8 Fins: 5-11 Schedule isn't as bad, sure there's travel but teams are regressing (Rams, Chargers). I had the Jets at 9 wins last year.
