This thread is a wonderful study in argumentation. I teach argumentation and this has great examples of how different people use different patterns of reasoning (deductive, inductive, analogical, etc.) and evidence to make their point. I may copy this thread and use it in my course as some kind of in-class exercise.
Persuasion from the pschological, business or legal sense. I was just wondering if you had a good book recommendations on negotiations other than Getting to Yes and The Power of a Positive No by Ury.
Sorry, can't help you out with a book recommendation in that area. My focus is more on persuasion from a public speaking point of view.
Hey genuis. I joined the board in the summer of '05. World Series and Super Bowl championship year. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
GB is Titletown. Try to be more original. And why would you want people to smoke? Don't you know it isn't healthy? Then again, breathing in Boston isn't healthy either....
With all that has happened this summer between Kendell and the Jets, the dangerous precedent would not be renegotiating his contract, but rewarding a player even after he trashed management. I know it's no guarantee that Kendell would have gotten a raise if he didn't air his dirty laundry to the media, but he definitely didn't help his chances.
