I agree. He's gonna have some very tough decisions. We'll see if he keeps his draft picks over UDFAs, veterans, or FAs, regardless of how they've played in camp. We'll see what he values in building a team.

I also agree about the OLBs. Especially since Rex has never seemed to truly value OLBs, I just can't see him keeping over 5, much less 7. I'll be shocked if Enemkpali doesn't make the team, but losing Davis will hurt too. I agree that they'll keep Dixon. If they don't, I think they'll lose him.

You make a good point about the WR position and keeping someone who has STs value. Ford hasn't really shown that much, has he? Hakim is supposedly faster, but they possibly could keep him on the PS. I'd be shocked if Nelson is cut or traded, however. He may not be all that talented, but he's very consistent and reliable and his height sure doesn't hurt.

You may be right about Richardson not having much trade value, but if a team loses their starting RB or top backup during the next couple of weeks, things could change dramatically. He's looked very good and has had success in the league before.

The fact that he's going under the knife today and the Jets still haven't placed him on IR leads me to believe they could be thinking of saving a roster spot for him to put him on the 8 week IR and have him back midseason.

Man, is there a limit on the number of times you can use the 8 week IR? If so I wouldn't want to waste that spot on Evans, you never know who could be get hurt and that spot would be crucial... If there isn't a limit then I guess it doesn't matter.

Nicely done. I think you might have absolutely nailed it. Practice squad selection wll be very interesting with some good talent. I fully suspect Dowling will be bait for a late CB pick up.

I remember times when the Jets brought back (mid season) a rookie who was cut and on the couch. Can't remember names but I'm sure if a guy is truly a tough decision, things change every week and he could be re-signed at any time. I can see that happening if one of our impressive rookies is just one man too many and has to be cut.

I might make a few changes based on what I've seen, but here's what I'll predict as of now (with depth chart):

QB: Geno Smith - Michael Vick - Matt Simms
RB: Chris Ivory - Chris Johnson - Bilal Powell - Daryl Richardson
    FB: Tommy Bohanon
WR: Eric Decker - Greg Salas
WR: Stephen Hill - David Nelson
WRs: Jeremy Kerley - Jalen Saunders
TE: Jeff Cumberland - Jace Amaro - Zach Sudfeld
    LT: D'Brickashaw Ferguson
LG: Brian Winters - Oday Aboushi (OT)
C: Nick Mangold - Dalton Freeman
RG: Willie Colon - Dakota Dozier (OT)
    RT: Breno Giacomini

    DE: Muhammad Wilkerson
NT: Damon Harrison - Kenrick Ellis
DT: Sheldon Richardson - Leger Douzable
OLB: Quinton Coples - Jason Babin - Trevor Reilly
ILB: David Harris - Nick Bellore
ILB: DeMario Davis - Jeremiah George
OLB: Calvin Pace - Garrett McIntyre - IK Enemkpali
CB: Dee Miliner - Ellis Lankster
CB: Dimitri Patterson - Darrin Walls (If either Walls or Lankster shows well next week I think Patterson should be a reserve)
CBs: Kyle Wilson - Brandon Dixon
FS: Calvin Pryor - Jaiqwan Jarrett
SS: Antonio Allen - Dawan Landry

    K: Nick Folk
    P: Ryan Quigley
    LS: Tanner Purdum

PS: WR Quincy Enunwa, WR Saalim Hakim, QB Tajh Boyd, DT T.J. Barnes, DE Kerry Hyder, OLB Troy Davis, ILB A.J. Edds, S Rontez Miles
IR: WR Shaq Evans, LB Jermaine Cunningham, CB Dexter McDougle
    PUP: Antwan Barnes

Yeah, you can only use it on 1 player I believe. They don't have to use it until the final 53 is submitted.

I continue to be amazed that no one seems to think the jets will carry a backup tackle on the roster. Neither Oday Aboushi nor Dakota Dozier are ready to be tackles if either Ferguson or Giacomini go down. Oday Aboushi may get there, but in his last game it looked to me like he needed some work. Eventually, they'd like to be able to do that, but I don't think Oday Aboushi will be there this year.

Simms is now PS eligible with the new rules just introduced (per Dick Cimini).
