It needs to happen. Noodle arm just can't make those big plays. I can't say I like much of the play calling either, but it's time.
I love Chad, he has great heart and has made some nice plays for us in the past, but something is different this year. He seems weaker than usual and it is costing the Jets in more ways than one. However, the Jets are not (1-4) because of Chad. Most of the team STINKS this season. Exceptions are Coles, Cotchery, Leon Washington, Kerry Rhodes and Nick Mangold. I am not saying by choosing Clemens that he is better than Chad, I am just saying he can't be too much worse, and if he is, then it is good to know now then later.
I knew I should have stayed out of here. As I now see this is a PUBLIC poll (which I think is a big mistake because it's going to only provoke more problems) I feel I have to defend my opinion. This game wasn't ALL on Chad's shoulders. Let's talk about some of the god damned stupid ass penalties that cost ALOT. Let's talk about the D getting to damn comfortable with a lead as they usually do. Let's talk about MISSED calls on the officials part in favor of the Giants. Let's talk about the fact Plexico is 9 freaking feet tall and a damn constuction tarp couldn't cover him. Bah..I'll be in the Bunker.
As much as I want to see Kellen start, I don't think Mangini has the balls to sit a captain (see never goes for it on 4th down).
Chad should've been benched after his 3rd pick. I've seen all I can take of his rag arm. If Mangini has any balls he'll pull chad.
this is what im gettin worried about if a change isnt made soon he should be on thin ice as far as im concerned. the defense is a whole nother issue. im watching jay cutler throw strikes wondering why we drafted clemens instead. its time for them to show us.
i think that chad is aware of how opposing defenses are playing him and he is desparately trying to prove he can still make the throws...and is only putting more pressure on himself to show he can still lead this team.like it or not the ability to spread the field is key to both the running and passing games
It wasn't just the interceptions. Chad really does not have the arm to make even routine throws 15+ yards down the field. He threw up floaters over and over again today that his receiver fought to to make catches. When you have receivers like Jerrico Cotchery and Laveranues Coles you're supposed to hit them in stride now and then so they can run away with the ball. Instead Chad throws up balls that they have to defend as they catch and it causes critical problems, both in terms of the hits they take and their YAC opportunities. Coles is UNDER 10 YARDS A CATCH THIS YEAR. How can that be? Cotchery should be headed for 1,400 yards receiving and 14 TD's but he's not. How can that be? Baker should be a 60 catch tightend and yet he'll wind up with 30-35 again. How can that be? Chad is a sucky QB, that's how these things are happening.
He was no better last week than he was this week. He actually played better this week aside from the picks. Last week was a joke with the way he was dumping it off. Then there were the picks. His first pick set up the Bills in scoring position (25 yard line). His second pick blew a chance at tying the game. How can you call that a good game? He was good against New England, decent against Miami, and bad the last 2 games. I do agree that he won't be benched now though. Chad is the starter, and he will be granted a bit more wiggle room to straighten himself out. It will only take him so far though. He needs to get right soon, for his own sake.
Voted for Chad and I think that 40 yards rushing. AAnd a defense that couldnt stop a runny nose says enough. Next question will we win with Chad...answer no. Defense is horrendous and absolutely no running game. We have never fielded a team that I can remember ( no stat sheet in front of me) that had less ruinning yards at this point in the season. So easy to blame a QB.
