Didn;t Buddy Ryan punch a coordinator in the mouth during a game? All we need now is for Rex to level Stevie 'Sparano' Wonder during a game and the circle is complete.

That guy was Jeff Fischer. I was watching that game and Buddy sucker punched Jeff. Didn't look like Buddy had a lot behind the punch from what I remember though. Kinda like Rex's offenses. :)

Actually we won 2 and were in contention for a third. We used Tebow in the 2006 season with the same frequency that Tebow is used by the Jets now. Leak had no problems handling it, gave him a second to breathe on the sideline with coaches and Tebow kept drives going that would've stalled otherwise.

The difference is that Tebow is used incorrectly by the Jets. He's put in on 2nd and 10 instead of third and short. If you're not going to start him, you need to at least use him in the right situations.

From watching him play for four years, I disagree with a lot of you that the kid is incapable of starting. Based on what evidence? A half a season at Devner? That little time gives you the evidence to write him off completely? Bah. I think "Well Tebow obviously can't start." is the new acceptance line to be qualified to enter a discussion between blowhard fans who feel like they need to qualify their football knowledge with one another. Fact is, none of you (or I) know shit as to whether he will be a successful starting NFL QB or not.

However, we DO know at this point that Sanchez is a lost cause. The dude is a head case who is still making rookie mistakes in his 4th season. If you're going from the standpoint of doing your best to win every week (and not tanking for a high draft pick), then Tebow needs to start.

What could possibly go wrong? We're already losing every game. What's Tebow going to do, lose them even worse? I don't even know if that's possible for him or anyone else. Let the kid loose, at least we'll have someone out there that looks like he gives two shits about playing football, because Sanchez doesn't.

Most of the articles I've read gave the explanation that Buddy hated the run & shoot offense & it caused some tension between both coordinators before this punch was even thrown.

Good points. As you state, we're already losing the games anyway. I'd like to run through all possible QB candidates on this roster BEFORE Jets draft or sign FA QB. It's just common sense to see properly evaluate everything among your possessions before spending your resources on replacing. Seems that there's a huge fanbase here that wants the boat to sink with Mark @ the helm and then draft another QB when it's time to rebuild.

I was referring to the 2 QB system. The second NC with Tebow there, he was the starter in a 1 QB system.

That's a load of bullshit. Meyer was sucking Tebow's dick is why he went in along with half the ignorant portion of the Gator fan base. I was at games where they booed Leak and called for him. It was downright retarded I almost left the game. We had RBs and receivers. That was the worst thing that happened that I would take back, is for Leak not to get treated that way. I have no doubt you were one of them either. You can't say shit.

Looks like our only hope is if Sanchez gets hurt.

Let's face it, Tebow could be a spark, like many others believe. No one knows how the team would respond or if it would be able to win with him with this current team, How could anyone know unless he gets his chance?.. but even the haters know it couldn't be worse than it is now. Even though it seems far fetched, in a win at all cost league, I really believe the escalating contract TT received in 2010 is causing the Jets to bury him except for a few plays, which is a travesty to Tebow and the fans, imo, and really makes the rest of the season smoke and mirrors, with winning a secondary objective, which I admit is very hard to believe in the NFL.

Reporter: Why do you believe it (that Sancho gives you best chance to win)?

Best answer would have been: "Because it's true."

For all his experience BS'ing I guess 'ol Rex knew he couldn't pull that one off with a straight face.

In what world does a QB who just led your offense to 0 points give you the "best chance to win"?? Last time I checked, 0 points scored will win 0% of the time.

Punting on 1st down would be better than this joke of an offense.

I have to wonder how long its going to be before we we see a post where a Jet fan congratulates Brian Shottenheimer for getting as much as he did from Sanchez, and history will start to be rewritten Oh my!

Rex can never admit he was wrong. He's gonna go to the grave believing in Sanchez.

In his book (don't own it) he says he wanted to love Josh Freeman heading into that draft (considering where the team was slotted). But when they visited USC, basically, everybody raved about how Sanchez was such a nice guy and so that changed his mind. He suddenly thought, "whoa, we got to draft this guy!!"

Somebody can probably find the exact quote.

They drafted Mark Sanchez because more people came to his workouts than Josh Freeman.

The Jets really fucked up with that. You have to do major due diligence when planning to draft a QB in round 1. Freeman comes across as less wacky in interviews. As a fan that is all I can go by. Aside from game action of course.
