No...that was originally posted in Nov 2005, I think. I reposted each of my centennial posts after the server crash.

I read the first two posts in the thread.

It's pretty good. I'd put the 2001 Pats at Jets game on the list. That was such a damaging game to the Jets and really started the Patriots on their way. If the Jets held onto their double digit second half lead (and the remaining regular season games played out as they did), the Jets would have won the division and hosted the Raiders in the snow.

...on HEAR?????....These are the people who idolize you, DeathbyJets. You must be a proud man. These are the people who think that 1000 posts is a great accomplishment. Others might think 1000 posts are an indication of a guy who needs to get a life. That's not MY opinion, ofcourse.

Great topic. As a long-time Jet fan, I disagree with some of the games being mentioned as painful and feel that some of the worst losses have not been mentioned.

First, there is such a thing as a "good loss" or a less painful one. I put the 81 Buffalo playoff loss on such a list. The playoff appearance was so unexpected and the comeback so exciting that most fans didn't leave the stadium depressed. In fact, I still fondly remember the Shea stands shaking up and down as the Jets came back in that game.

I also put the 1998 loss to the Broncos as a "good loss." That game doesn't keep me up at night. That was a magical season and the Jets were double digit underdogs. Expectations were low, for me anyway.

The games that were left out:

The loss to the Ravens in the last game of the 2000 season to miss the playoffs. Over 500 yards of offense against one of the best defenses of all time (debatable in my opinion) and the Jets lose!!! The Jets blow a 14-0 lead. It was painful, horrible football.

The loss to the Pats in the '85 wild card game was tough. The Jets were a very good team that year - as good as the Pats. That 26-14 loss at home was a real deflator.

The loss to Miami at Miami in 1985. O'Brien drives the Jets to the leading score with 1 minute left. Then Marino beats a blitz and hits Clayton on a long TD and the Jets lose the game and the division.

How about the OT losses to Cleveland in 1978 and 1979?

How about the loss to the Miami in 1972? The Jets were beating the Dolphins in Miami only to blow a 2nd half lead by permitting Griese to hit Howard Twilly on 3rd and forever. That pass isn't completed and the Fish never get their 14-0 season.

How about the blowout loss to Miami on Monday night in 1986?

The loss to Houston in the last game of the season in 1992?

Namath's knee injury in the preseason game against Detroit in 1971?

I've had enough. I'm going to watch 24 to cheer up.

Look....you don't like what I post....I get that....it's not for everyone. If others do, why do you see the need to attack them? I write these posts first and foremost for my own entertainment....if others enjoy reading it, all the better. It is like people who write poetry or paint....they do it for their own pleasure. That is why I do what I do.

Also, you seem to think people respect me due to the fact that I do these creative posts. The fact is only 30 or so of the 1,000 posts I've made would be considered creative writing. The rest are just "normal" posts. Perhaps (and I am sure this is a foreign concept to you) the fact that I treat others with respect is the reason people respect me. Respect is earned, not a God-given right. Just because you are a long-time Jet fan, doesn't mean you have earned anything. I suspect you were as big a fool in 1960 as you are today. I'm not trying to win any popularity contests, but if I were, I know at least one poster I could beat.

If you don't like my posts, don't read them. Who is dumber: the guy writing psuedo-intellectual posts or the guy unsuccessfully trying to convince everyone they are psuedo-intellectual posts?

Oh...and in response to the PM you sent me....no, I will not send you a naked picture of me.

I was talking about the Patriots at Jets game of 2001, not the Jets at Patriots game of 2001.

Only 3 other people recognised my wisdom and insight when I nominated Al Dorow as most likely to go postal. I hereby rest my case.

I'm attracted to your posts like a dog is attracted to crap. They stink but I'm still curious. That said, I still thought you were intelligent enough to understand my problem with you. It's not WHAT you say. It's HOW you say it. You're pretentious. You seem to wallow in your own self importance. Anyone with an IQ over 85 tend to be annoyed by shit like that. The fact that most posters on this board float under this 85 point level is an indication of why you have so many fans. They don't comprehend the fact that most of your threads ooze a tremendous amount of ego. So, for that you're extremely fortunate. However, I think you probably have enough smarts to understand where I'm coming from. Just be a normal Jets fan. Try hard to bring yourself down to our level. Your writings will be alot easier to digest.
