Cody Benjamin, a writer for CBS Sports sees 4 teams as good fits for Anderson -Carolina -Green Bay Packers -Oakland -Philly furthermore he says the Jets turned down an offer of a 4th round pick last year for Anderson from Philly and he projects Anderson is worth a 3rd round pick https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...NnfQozGbSb1KxLEccXNHZrNKBPivwqW39U63E4jVEZsVY
Personally I'm tired of seeing Robbie slow down/give up on passes that are still in the air because they aren't right in his hands. The guy is an undrafted walk on. He should never do that his entire career.
you are a waste of time and bandwidth bro. You can’t even accept common knowledge. And, you didn’t answer my question
agreed. It is surprising he plays like that given where he came from. But then again, maybe that’s why he went undrafted
people in this thread need to go back and read this https://www.forums.theganggreen.com...obbie-anderson-underrated-route-runner.92274/
Well if Darnold is not the franchise QB most thought then we are screwed regardless and no 3rd or 4th we get for Robby will save them. I think that’s highly premature though and am of the opinion that you build this team around Sam Darnold. I don’t understand why we’d want to trade Robby who has pretty good chemistry with the QB. We need to add weapons to this offense, why trade one of the very few weapons we have? I think Robby can be a very good #2 WR paired with a #1 type WR who is drawing most of the coverage and best CBs. Now if he wants to be paid like an elite #1 or if the FO has doubts about how he’ll react to getting paid my opinion would change but we have no way of knowing that. As far as the Dolphins go, they traded young elite players that should’ve been the building blocks of a rebuild for draft picks that may or may not even become good. Everyone loves the draft, I do too, I’m a total draft nerd but the hit rate is not good throughout the NFL.
I think it’s fully clear that Anderson is not a great WR, nor will he ever become one. I am in full agreement that he’s not a guy you build an offense around. Sam is the guy we should be building the offense around and adding more threats to the one threat we have in Robby should be a high priority.
Bingo! the idea of lets build a wining team by trading away anything good we have for a pick who could wind up being a bust and bets case won't help the team until 2020 if not 2021 or 2022 or even 2023. u just never know with draft picks. why they want to leave sam with an aging DT who isn't getting seperation and dropped 3 passes sunday, crowder whos a good WR3 slot guy but isn't a starter. enunwa who may never play again. berrios who's well not even sure why he is on the roster, and bellamy who is only a special teamer and hasn't done anything at WR but drops balls. Oh and pair that with a weak o-line. It seems fans here want to get darnold killed for some reason
Anderson imo is an over rated WR however if they are going to improve Darnold for next year you got to have at least several receiving corps. Jets are one of the worst teams in NFL with WR depth.
Fixed it for you = If Robbie Anderson is the Jets legit #1 WR it just shows how bad the position is ( among other positions ) and the lack of depth on the NY Jets
yes we lack depth but the point was he's our WR1 not necessarily a WR1 overall. he was better then crowder and enunwa going into the season. we had 3 solid guys who filled different roles. now enunwa is out, and you want to get rid of robby? where is the logic in that? it's a bad joke. If we trade him, I hope he goes to GB and puts up 1200 yards with rodgers making scrub tier WRs look good and everyone will be syaing how JD sucks and we got ripped off. Fans here just cause me to SMH
GAC did you actually read anything that I posted or are you just looking for arguments ? Although I believe Anderson is an average WR ( at best ) I actually said we might need to keep him because we have ZERO depth at the position this is my quote " I have zero problem trading a guy like Anderson as I think many people NOT MYSELF believe that he is more/ better than he really is but our problem is the only WR worth a damn is Crowder and we are so weak at the position" ----again I don't have a problem trading him because of his talent ( because IMO his talent is limited ) I have a problem trading him because we are looking at Berrios and Bellamy
maybe not you specifically (yes i know i replied to you), but the general bitching in this thread is robby sucks and somehow a mid round pick will do us better and it's just insane. If we move someone it makes sense that they have to ave 2 qualities 1) be at a position of great depth 2) not planned to be on the roster in 2020 in which case the only guy that fits that bill that we should be selling is leo. nobody else should be in discussion as far as selling I'd love to see henry anderson back and phillips and Q out there more and mclendon just got extended so leo is both expendable at his position and we can't afford him/he's not worth paying with the depth we have for 2020. robby is the top of his position on the jets and we are pretty thin there. outside of robby we have crowder who is a slot WR3 and an aging 1 year DT who can't get separation and had 3 drops monday. we need to give darnold more people to throw to, not less or it'll be sanchez all over starting out with cochery and clwoney at WR. but at least back then MT made moves and got us braylon and then santonio. trading robby is a huge negative to our offense. even if you believe in JD would you trade robby for the next devin smith, ardarius stewart, Stephen hill, etc? WRs have a very high bust rate in the NFL and trading him only creates another hole
How many years did this forum gripe about not having a genuine deep threat receiver? How many times has someone complained about not developing our own players and relying on expensive FAs? Now we have a guy who is both of these and we want to trade him for a handful of magic draft beans, simultaneously reducing the viable targets for our young QB to throw to??!! Sure he's not a HoF or even pro-bowl level guy, but he's still a viable NFL receiver. Someone the opposing team has to allow for on game day. Who cares if a top-tier corner can take him out of the game - Revis used to do that to guys who were way better than Robby - that's still performing a need and it means someone else has an easier task elsewhere on the field. Providing we don't over value him internally and pay him too much then Robby can be an important part of the Jets going forward. If someone else overvalues him at the end of the year then good luck to him and them.
I posted this elsewhere ----> which other team could release Josh Gordon and Antonio Brown and not miss a beat and here we are arguing about Robbie Freaking Anderson , just shows how far the Jets really have to go until they are to be taken seriously
the loudest people on this forum are absolutely the worst. they only come here to bitch and make shit up. I'm not even convinced most people here have actually seen a jets game in the past decade or any NFL game
The problem is most people have seen Jets games and other NFL games. That's why there is no compelling argument for Anderson other than he's a body at WR and we suck at WR.
