Robbie is at the very bottom of the league compared to every NFL WR in catch ratio. It doesn't matter the route, the zone, anything. He's statistically at the bottom.

The NE Patriots, the team that just ass raped Robbie on Monday night football gave up a two for Sanu. I'll let that sink in for you. BB and the New England Patriot organization gave up a 2 for Sanu, the guy you call a JAG.

Sanu is a more reliable player than Anderson. He runs better routes, has better hands, and for the love of God he will actually try to break up passes thrown his way when the corner jumps the pass. Unlike Anderson who will just shrug his shoulders and let it get picked off.

talent? sure Anderson has more talent than Sanu. But I would not say he's a better player. I guess it depends on what you value

He doesn't have more talent than Sanu. He's faster. Sanu runs better routes. He's physical, he has strong hands and can get off the line and block in both the passing and the running game. That's why NE traded a high pick for him.

I'm not disagreeing with you because I do think Sanu is a better player for the reasons you mention. I just have a different definition of talent. For me the stuff you listed with Sanu are the professional skills he has developed to become the better player, not raw talent.

Talent, in my opinion, is just simply measurables: Size, Speed, Quickness... I give Anderson the edge in this category only

anderson has an insane catch radius and is one of the best at tracking the ball in the NFL. you are jsut using buzz words you clearly don't understand to knock a guy. On top of that hopkins has had major drop issues this year, evans has led the NFL in drops several years and has the lowest catch % of any WR over the past 5 years. but hey they have stats and make a great highlight reel catch here and there. put down the stat sheet, and watch a few games.

Robby has more talent in his pigtail than Sanu ever had. I’d love to see Robby in a real offense with other threats in it. Hopefully it’s with the a Jets.

lol you are a funny cat. Anderson has "an insane catch radius".... and "one of the best at tracking the ball in the NFL" ... that's news to everyone. So is this idea that Hopkins and Evans aren't any good. hilarious

This was sarcasm I hope. Hopkins had drops last year. So did Robbie. The difference was Hopkins production based on any metric was fantastic.

IMO he is a good # 3 and can stretch the field but it appears we have very different opinions on how good Robbie Anderson really is

Anderson is extremely overrated on this board. It's laughable.

Anderson has barely done anything for this team and has benefited greatly from the true lack of talent we've had at the position.

...but, hey, you guys keep acting like Anderson is one of the best WR to ever wear a Jets uni.

Over exaggeration is over exaggeration. Not one person in here has overrated Anderson, quite the opposite.

Thinking that trading one of the very few weapons the Jets have for a 3rd or less is beyond stupid is far different than thinking he’s the best WR that’s ever worn the uni.

I'd quantify that more as "Potential" than talent......

I disagree about a 3rd or a 4th being beyond stupid. For a 5th or less I would keep him. Preferable to that is you can actually trade players for other players and/or draft picks.

You should take a look at the Pats roster and how many players they drafted 3rd round and down. If you assume Douglas will suck at drafting you're right.

I never said hopkins and evans aren't good. Hopkins is elite top 3 WR, evans is a legit WR1 and top 10. I'm just pointing out they have their mishaps too. you just don't see them because you don't watch the games. Clearly you have to make stuff up to try and move a goal post. classic move on a forum from someone uneducated in the topic at hand. pretty poor look for you though.

also robbys ball tracking is hardly new news.

not sarcasm, just pointing out even the best players struggle or drop balls and have bad games. robby's only knock is a lack of consistency at the QB position and lack of targets.
if robby is a WR3 You can't think anyone is a legit WR1 and crowder is a WR5

I can't let this slip. I'm spoiled because I live in AZ and get to watch Larry Fitzgerald every Sunday. Granted he's a 1st ballot HOF WR but he has had both great and crappy QB's. He's a shell of what he was a few years ago in terms of his ability to get separation. Still every game he runs great routes, he blocks in the running game, he lays out for tough catches, he fights to prevent INT's. He catches everything in cradled hands. He rarely has a stronger defender rip the ball out to cause an incompletion. The little things he does regardless of the QB, the score the outcome is not unique in the NFL.

It took me a long time to recognize that Julius Edelman is a great WR. I used to think system guy. He does everything, he plays balls out all the time. He finds the open spot regardless of the defense or the defender and he's tough as nails.

Robbie doesn't just not do most of the things that spell great NFL WR. He does almost none of them.

That doesn't mean he isn't a threat, it just means his not the guy you want to build your O around. He's not a No. 1 WR. He's simply not willing to do what it takes to be a No. 1 guy. Hopkins to his credit is one of the mentally toughest guys in the NFL. That doesn't change with a drop.

hey man I love fitz as much as the next guy and he was elite in his heyday but he's not elite at this point.
Edelman is a great WR but he's a different type of WR then robby. it's apples and oranges. edelman is more comparable to crowder or landry. Robby is more like a will fuller type or to compare him to one of the bets all time randy moss. he obviously isn't moss's level but he's the same style of WR. and people sued to knock moss all the time about being too skinny and a 1 trick pony and how did that end up? not every WR is going to be the prototypical Calvin Johnson/Julio Jones type. You want variety in your WR group to be most effective. Robby does a lot more then you give hime credit for.

WHY doesn't Anderson try to catch or at least try to break up under thrown balls? why why why does he not even try that? Is he lazy?

What's stupid is thinking these "weapons" matter at this juncture with the current state of this team.

Anderson is replaceable. We need draft capital badly because it is literally our only true means of being something more than just a really bad team.

Our cap isn't going to be good enough to make us a contender and we don't have any key players to round out this roster outside of Bell, Mosley, Adams, and Darnold.

After the other night, most of us are even sceptical of Darnold bring that "FQB" we've been dying for.

Those are the only players that I feel can't be moved.

Holding on to average/above average players for the sake of "that's the best we have" is foolish to me.

For what? When the draft is the only true way for us to climb out of this shit show, for what?

We never truly did a rebuild and we as fans are suffering for it.

People are laughing at the Phins now and I don't get it, they accepted failure and are now trying to right that wrong by shipping everyone expendable to hopefully have the draft capital to achieve a better future. Look at how much draft capital they have now. How much cap they cleared.

People need to wake up in my opinion.
