The guy that splits time with Bush has to be good enough to justify taking 15 carries a game while Bush stands on the sidelines.

Right now the guy who fills that role is Domanick Davis. Imagine if you will the prospect of the Texans having a lesser back taking 12-15 carries a game for 3.5 yards a carry. How long would they be able to hold out with the media and fans brow-beating them non-stop to feed the ball to Bush 20+ times a game?

Domanick Davis is necessary, at least for the first season, for Bush to adjust to the more demanding NFL workload. If the Texans let him go they'll really regret it.

Vernon Morency was the 9th pick in the third round. He hasn't really played much but in the last game of the year against SF, he had 21 carries 83 yards with one td. He also had 4 catches for 46 yards thats not bad for a back up that doesn't make shit money wise compared to Davis.

Dom Davis is a beast. No way in hell Texas gets rid of him for D'Rob. End of discussion.

    NO MONEY will be saved.

We'll immediately be hit with an 8.4M cap charge for this year.

Your infatuation for a RB is just as annoying as your inaftuation was with Jay Fiedler. I want a RB too, but taking a 8.4 million dollar cap it to get one is crazy

Robertson for davis? that's asinine. Unless they know that Robertson's knee will not allow him to play to his '04 level that would be a silly trade. obviously if Hou takes Bush davis is gone so why give them a potential PB DL too?

As the #1 non Texans fan of Domanick Davis I'd love this to happen, I'd be on Cloud 9 for years.

I dont think the Texans would make that trade but it would be nice to have Davis if it wasnt for the cap hit.

Robertson is not a good fit for the 3-4 and we have a ton of OL depth right now, with no true NT. If the Lions are switching to a 4-3, Robertson deserves to play in a schedme that suits him.

Davis is averaging 1500 yards from scrimmage in his 3 seasons with 9 TD per season. He was a 4th round pick in 2003 (5th RB overall), but based on his body of work he should have gone in the 1st round.

We get to unload Robertson's salary, and use the cap space we have to get the hit out of the way.

This is a good deal for both teams.

I'd say he's certainly young. I wouldn't call him that talented.

I really think you overstate his potential. Robertson is decent, but not pro bowl caliber.
