Ryan= Building All weather offense QB in 09 = needs strong running game to take off some pressure NO WRs = 8 man in the box TJ = Proven Commodity LW = Possible poor man's Brian Westbrook but never carried the load Greene= Rookie Stir it up in a pot sprinkle whatever flavor you like and the results equal no way in hell we trade Thomas Jones.
You are all idiots, ban me, I don't care, anyone who even thinks that TJ is being traded is an idiot and knows nothing about the JETS. IDIOTS
TJ has more value to us this year, then anything we would get for him. We will keep him, and should keep him. If a team really wanted him and gave us a 2nd for him, sweet, but that's never gonna happen. TJ is a Jet.
Well.....there may not be enough plays to go around if they are "really" going to give Washington a big enough chunk to earn the money they are offering and Jones as the "starter" and Greene as the redzone and third down guy. Something has to give.
We were very fortunate that neither Jones nor Washington got hurt last year. Running backs get hurt in this league, and we need to keep our depth. Trading away our starting running back, who fits very well into our running game, is idiotic. And Woodhead is horrible. No speed or burst, and he can't even use his low center of gravity to fall forward for extra yards. Keep Jones, Washington, and Greene rotating throughout each game to keep them fresh, and our running game will carry this team.
This offense will be a Run 1st offense, it would make zero sense to trade T> Jones or any aspect of our rushing attack. Woodhead would not do well vs 1st string defenses.
exactly! leon is fresh now, but come week 8, week 10 thats another story. leon proved nothing. it will take a full season. me thinks he doesn't make it...
There is no need to trade jones, we have great depth at RB right now, why take a chance? This will probably be TJ's last productive season, so trading him right now would get a 4th rounder at best. I'd rather have him split carries with Leon. Leon is the man, but we are going to use him in the passing game and of course the return game a lot this year. No need to completely tire him out by giving him 20+ carries a game as well.
So you wouldn't trade TJ in a package for a WR? You clear cap room and give Leon his contract, making him happy...all is good. Hell, at this point, I'd trade him in a package for a linebacker...GHOSTon as a starter for 4 games is scary.
