Funny you mention that. I watched the game again and that was one of the highlights, typical Brian Winters moment. I just laughed. He actually DID fall on the ball. He faceplanted on the ball! The ball was almost stuck in his facemask. How the fuck he coughed up the ball I don't know, I don't even think if you tried you could have done that, but Brian found a way, as always. He did have some really good (key) blocks though and played pretty well, but that play was dunce worthy. Had we lost that game Winters would have been the new butt fumble, only worse.

Like IDF said, he freaked out. There's a low angle side shot of the play. He threw himself at the ball and hit it with his head/chest. Just kick the fukn thing out of bounds in that case, lol. You see what he is, an average G. He's okay, but nothing great. Every team's got guys like that. A really good player makes that play. I understand linemen are clunkers for the most part, and they're not paid for their ball handling skills....But Use your arms!!Lol

You're right blocker, I don't mean to sound like I came away from this game pissed, I was very happy with the overall way this team played on Sunday.

I rewatched the game a few times now and the oline played well. They were getting into the 2nd level a lot and Winters was one of the most active in that regard. He sprang Powell and Ivory on their big runs in the 1st half by blocking a lb in the second level of the defense.

I noticed PFF gave Breno a horrible grade this week. They said he had one of the worst offensive tackle performances of week 16. However when I rewatched the game I really didn't notice anything egregious about his play. He gave up a sack and had Fitz hurried a few times but the Pats D does a good job in getting after the qb so I wasn't that upset with his pass blocking.

PFF said he had a horrible day run blocking, but I thought he did OK in that regard; especially on the straight ahead run plays. So I'm a little confused with what they're saying. I was thinking maybe his play was the reason a lot of the screen plays didn't work and that's what PFF was talking about.

But like you said it doesn't pay to obsess over the negatives from this game. It was a great win and now we have a very winnable game in Buffalo. If we win in Buffalo and get in the playoffs I truly believe Bowles is well on his way to changing the culture.

In the past if we needed a 6 game win streak in order to get into the playoffs we would do the same old Jet thing of winning 5 and then losing the 6th. Get ever bodies hopes up sky high just to have them crash back to earth. But we win here, and it looks like a brand new Jets team, and that's so exciting. Not just for 2015 but for the future as well!

    Tball,

However fair or not the rating for Giacomini, it could have been worse especially in that game. Other than the sack I don't think he stuck out for any awful plays, and against NE it could have been MUCH worse. And Winters actually looked good here and there.

Go back to the Dallas game. What was the weakest part of the JEts team? Winters and Giacomini. Since they didn't stick out as bad against NE, that is an upgrade and a big plus. That's what I was referring to.
