Seriously, the biggest positive is this. Darnold, going up against a better defense than Cleveland's and with mono, made our offense look halfway competent. All I can hope for is that if we ruin him, he has success somewhere else.
I liked that they benched Trumaine Johnson to start the game. Despite the final score I feel much better than I did in the earlier part of this game. They showed some life, some fighting/competitive spirit. Even seeing Bell's facial expression on the sideline after his fumble he cares. We'll probably get blown out again next week or maybe not. The Jets have weapons Bell, Robby, Crowder but will this guy Gase let them & Falk play?
Dude has some good energy. The O seemed to come alive when he came in to the game. Good mobility. But he looks small, not big. Edit: He's listed at 6'4 on NFL.com didn't look like it on tv. Let him play. Let's see what he's got.
My two cents while still totally pissed off. Coach Williams got game, balls and held everyone accountable. Gase has shown nothing yet. Offense is a product of that massively incompetent POS Mac who completely destroyed the OL. May that miserable incompetent asshole never find a job again in the NFL. Our D is competitive, our O is beyond help.
This game had the most positives a 23-3 loss could possibly have. I thought the Defense played pretty good. With Mosley, Jenkins, and Williams returning, it could be great. Bell looked amazing. He is the best player the Jets have had in years. By a mile. Falk handled things pretty well for a QB3 who just was elevated to the main roster this morning. It seems bad going (0-2) and SURELY (0-3) after next week, but I really think the future is bright for this team. Including this 2019 season. Sunday should be a blood bath, but I expect the final 13 games to be competitive. Especially if Sam can somehow return after the BYE.
Oline was the biggest problem and special team coverage.... Other than that what did we expect? We already were 50/50 if Sam D was starting. Then let's say we had 35% chance of winning with Siemian, then we ended with Falk. I liked that Falk got play time, made decent plaus, I wish Bellamy (correct me if I'm wrong) dropped a huge pass end of 1st half on 2nd down. That led to us not getting a 1st, clock being stopped, and eventually more points for the Browns. I think the 80+ yd TD and drop by Bellamy were huge plays besides the Oline issues and qb injury. You know this might be a blessing in disguise, that Sam didnt play, perhaps he wouldve gotten a major injury today the way our Oline was playing. I hope Sam recovers and is ready for week 5, and QWill, and Mosley are ready soon . I think this team will show it's TRUE colors week 5 and on.
Luke Falk was a surprise. He can throw! I thought we had a better shot with him in the game than we did with Semien.
Cashman and Hewitt can both play. Defense played hard and were on the field forever and kept hitting and gang tackling. When Sam gets back and Herndon gets back with bell and crowder we will win some games. When Jordan Jenkins went out of the game we had all 4 linebacker spots being filled by backups from the original lineup before the season began. No Mosley no Avery no Copeland and no Jenkins and no q Williams. And except for the blow coverage on Odell and that ridiculous catch by Odell the jets had 3 sacks and 1 turnover and stopped the run for most of the game. The jets d have caused 5 turnovers so far in two games.so their is some good.
