Hard to generalize here without evaluating the candidates individually.

As far as a new coach John Harbaugh would be nice. But what about GM.? Mac can’t survive this current sh*t show.. then again maybe he can.. this is the Jets. Just hope they keep the kid holding a clipboard for the rest of the way so that the check collecting bums on the field don’t get him hurt.

So we want a former head coach that hasn’t been fired?

Reid has won...what since he has gone to KC?
2017 - Lost in WC round
2016 - Lost in Divisional Round
2015 - Lost in Divisional Round
    2014 - Didn't make the playoffs
2013 - Lost in WC round

They are like 1-5 in the playoffs under Reid.

Belichick is the exception, not the rule.

There is a media rumor that Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers have soured on each other. It's probably just a fantasy but I would take McCarthy in a heartbeat. I believe he could Darnold and also fix several other issues on the team. I think our team has talent, probably average talent overall and in McCarthy's hands I think he can make average successful.

No thanks. There's a ton of belief in the NFL that McCarthy is one of the most overrated coaches. Let's not forget the fact that he was instrumental in drafting Alex Smith #1 overall over Aaron Rodgers and just happened to luck into Rodgers once he made the switch over to the packers.

Yeah my friends who are Packers fans I hate the guy and think he is the main reason they aren't more successful.

Rodgers is the best QB of the post Manning/Brady/Brees era. With a QB like that you should have been way more successful.

Not necessarily, when overall the D has been lacking, until this year, the GM didn't look to sign outside FAs, and they keep letting their best OL go in FA. Fairly often when one of their OL develops into a topflight starter and wants big money, they let him walk in FA. I think McCarthy has done a good job when one takes into consideration that they've constantly had to rebuilld/retool their OL. They've done a good job finding OL in lower and middle rounds, and a great job in finding WRs, but their best defensive players are mostly older or have been allowed to leave in FA.

That assessment is on point. Couldn’t agree more. I watch the pack when they play at other time slots than the Jets and he is a solid HC.

I wish I had the time, but I bet that if I went back and compared the Packers' rosters & depth charts over the last 10-12 years, that they would have one of the highest turnover rates in the NFL on their OL, defense, and probably overall roster. In addition, have they had even a very good RB, much less a great one?

I think the people that are claiming that McCarthy isn't very good just think that because the Packers have Rodgers and have had very good receivers and haven't won much. They haven't bothered to think more deeply and look for reasons why the Packers haven't won more.
