Poll: Which QB Would You Have Drafted?

I really disagree with this on several levels.
1st, Even first round QB's over the past 20 years bust at about a 66% rate, 2nd Rounders at about a 75% rate.
2nd, regardless of the quality of next years draft you have to take the best here, if it's a need, because the odds are that you won't be in position to get 'THE MAN' in the next draft, bird in the hand and all.
3rd. If you are in position to grab that top guy then you do it, worst case scenario your have your starter and a good Backup, both under contract for a number of years.
4th. It's nice to have your second round pick as a day one starter, regardless of position, but very few 2nd round QB's are day one starters from opening day. 1/2 of first round QB's probably shouldn't start on day one and two of the 3 taken in the first round this year almost definitely shouldn't be day one starters, but at least one probably will be.

 

Hackenberg is fine by me but I would lean no QB or Dak Prescott later on if not Hackenberg

 

Dak Prescott or Kevin Hogan later in the draft.

Also Cook was a good value where he was picked.

 

Geno because he only does well against the Dolphins.

 

I was hoping we'd draft Hackenberg. So I'm good. Stokes isn't though.

Thank God we didn't draft him in this case, what an awful support group. Decent talent on the field, bad for NY media.

i would have taken hackenberg i just would have done it in the 3rd or 4th round

 

Paxton in the first, or Cook/Cardale as a trade up in the fourth. I still think Hackenberg in round was terrible value.

 

Connor Cook. A winner, tough kid and Gailey could've gotten a lot out of him.

 

I don't think you would have, because he'd already have been taken. According to the article, Hack's stock rose the last two weeks and there were a number of teams interested in him. The Browns, Texans, Chiefs, or Patriots would probably have taken him before you had the chance.

 

I deadspin reliable reporting? If that's true, then it is definitely a good thing. Poor kid. He never had a chance with a dick like that for a father.

 

His account has been deleted on Twitter, it looks to have some legs in terms of that reporting. Deadspin likes to put our humor articles w/ some having truth and I think this fits the bill for sure as it does look to have credibility

Fair enough, but Mac obviously disagrees with you. Sorry, but I trust Mac more than I do you, me or anyone else on this board.

 

Regarding Connor cook, there's a reason that in a QB hungry league and a number of teams really needing starting QB's or upgrades at starter the team that drafted him late in the draft was taking him as a backup.

 

He was definitely the top player on the board at our pick.
