haha that one made the signature. thats absolutely amazing. he has only made the postseason 50% of the time... 2 years in (barely i might add) and 2 years out. but i am sure in your world thats top ten best. holy crap...
Brady, both Mannings, Big Ben, Rodgers, Brees, Rivers, Luck, Wilson, Kapernick. 10 QBs RIGHT now that are far superior to Sanchez.
This past year he was THE worst starting QB in the NFL, lets be real. I'm not saying he'll always been the worst starting QB in the NFL, but even in his best seasons I would still have taken 20 or so QBs over him. I like Mark Sanchez alot and I have always hoped he would succeed, but it's time to get serious about this offense and his play. He's been here 4 years now - that's a large enough sample that we can accurately know the type of QB he is. And it's not good. The time for excuses and everything is over. It's best if the Jets move on from this experiment as quick and as painless cap-wise as possible.
You have no idea what you are watching then if this is not based on #s. you know in the last 4 years Eli has made it ONCE, Ben twice. Playoff apps last 4 years in the AFC: Brady 4 Flacco 4 Peyton 3 Ben 2 Sanchez 2 Dalton 2 Palmer 1 Schaub 1 Tebow 1 Yates 1 Cassell 1 Rivers 1 playoff wins last 4 years; Flacco 5 Sanchez 4 Brady 3 Ben 2 Manning 2 Schaub 1 Yates 1 Tebow 1 4th in apps, 2nd in wins. Not bad for a guy who sucks.
That's not the discussion. there's probably 30 that were supeiror to him this year w/ the talent he had to work w/ but in 2010 he was top 10 or borderline top 10.
Yes, Like I said, 12 of the first 15 points came due to defense giving the Offense the ball already basically in FG range..nothing difficult to understand at all. Unless you've got your head too far up Sanchez's jock. Junc with you it's always "it was the weather", "The Sun was in his eyes", The defense played badly, he has never had good players, he (add excuse here). Junc, the only reason you defend him so blindly is either your related to him, your paid by him, or your in love with him....come to think of it, it's probably all three.
That's on Tannenbaum, hence why he's gone. As for basic quarterbacking skills that has NOTHING to do with who he has around him, he's a terrible quarterback who has greatly regressed for his last two years.
This year doesn't mean next year, I don't want the 2012 version but I do want the 2010 version which is int here somewhere. we have to bring it out of him like Harbaugh did w/ Alex Smith. you said less than 20 yds, only one drive was less than 20 yards. you are wrong...AGAIN.
Who do you think would be a good OC to do this with Sanchez? We saw Sanchez regress under Schotty and Sparano so we need someone who can bounce him back. His basics started to falter the middle of year 3 and his confidence became shot this year. I really don't know. I thought Norv could but that's out the door it seems.
Pep Hamiltn is the right guy to bring in here. First he runs an offense that is what Rex wants (aka a powerful running team that can make plays down the field). Second, he was able to get a Freshman QB ready to go and take over the offense - who elevated the play of the offense - after the starter struggled. I think he's the perfect fit.
You can keep telling yourself that if you want to, but the fact of the matter is, your defense of Sanchez isn't based in reality if you have actually watched him over the course of his four year career and honestly think he is a franchise quarterback. He's incredibly inaccurate and he makes game-changing, season-defining mistakes. Those two critical flaws have consistently embodied his play as an NFL quarterback. No amount of illogical fanboy rationalizing (as in assessing a player's INDIVIDUAL merits SOLELY based on TEAM wins in a TEAM Sport - how more illogical can you one get? ) will change this sad, cold reality.
hey junc 2011 went like this for those of us not stuck in fantasy land wins by the defense, which dominated or made critical late plays dallas- blocked punt for a td. intc by revis kills dallas scoring opportunity, fg wins game jax-s.t. get 9 points, def creates 4 turnovers and a safety miami-24-6 6 points explains most of it, thats like your guy putting up fantasy stats buffalo- def and s.t., wash- defense and run game combined k.c.- defense and run game again then here is how your glorious qb played in 6 of our losses balt.-nacho gives up 24 points on 3 fumbles and a pick 6, def and st score 14 pts. ne- our run game and st add up to 14 points, we had 7 punts through 3 qtrs ne- def gave up two td drives all game, ne in red zone 3 times get 3 fgs, nacho pick gives a td, nacho pick 6 gives another. den-st punt yields a den fg, def gets a fumble that gives us a fg, sancho pick 6. ny - 7 punts and a wasted red zone attempt, nacho fumble at 1 yd line, right after a pick that led to a giant fg. withit 22-14 jets get ball 1st and 10 nacho takes a safety. miami- nachos 1st pick gives fins 3. 2nd another fg. his 3rd in the red zone and us behind 10-16. 55 yrd return sets up the losing difference, and another fg. 10-19 at this point, game OVER. take away nacho's 38 points that he gave up in the season in turnovers and our defense is much better. take away all the other turnovers that led to scores by the other team via short field tds, and fgs and our defense is easily top 10 as usual. funny how u always sugar coat things in favor of taco, take plaxico out of nachos equation and his td numbers are not career highs and his picks and pick sixes climb no doubt. plax meant alot to taco, but he wasnt considered talent was he junc?
No, I said where the offense moved the ball less than 20 yards...you know after like getting the ball. Exact quote. "You have a funny interpretation of the offense getting 15 points, when on 12 of those 15 they moved the ball less than 20 yards or so. Translation, if the Special teams and Defense hadn't given the offense the ball 4 times on the Vikings side of the field the offense would have scored 3 points in the first half and 7 in the second." Like I said, on 4 of the FG's the Defense gave the ball to the offense basically in long FG range already and on all but one of those 4 times the offense failed to move the ball more than 20 additional yards. Yep, 2 of the first 3 FG's were the result of getting the ball inside Vikings territory (on the 40 and 47 yard lines). One the offense actually earned (from teh Jets 32). Next FG Jets started on teh Vikings 46. next FG the Jets started on the vikings 19 yard line. So yes Junc..4 of the first 5 FG's were the result of the Jets getting the ball on the Vikings side of the field and the offense stuttering to do anything with it except FGs despite good field position Basically each "drive" if you an call it that was 20-25 yards or less and most of what was gained was on the ground. Use whatever excuses you want son, it makes no difference. But really nice attempt to change the argument and distort what was actually said....Very Sarah Palin of you.
Per Wikipedia: "Hamilton started his coaching career at Howard University, where he served as the team's quarterbacks coach before becoming the team's offensive coordinator. Hamilton coached in the National Football League for the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers before taking a position as quarterbacks coach for the Chicago Bears on March 5, 2007.[1] In 2010, Hamilton was hired by the University of New Mexico Lobos after Tee Martin left for the Kentucky Wildcats and was named co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. However, after Ron Turner left Stanford for the Indianapolis Colts, Hamilton left New Mexico and before the start of the season to be the wide receivers coach at Stanford.[2] In 2011, he was promoted to offensive coordinator under new head coach David Shaw.[1]"
not bad for a qb who happened to be on the team, right junc? 3 of those 4 wins our defense and running game get the credit for didnt we decide that already? hand offs are not a qb stat so he gets no credit other than not butt fumbling!
Yawn, okay so one drive was 25-30...still you get the ball 4 times in the other teams side of the field, and get in to the redzone 3 of those 4 times and just walk away with FG's... But in each of them it ws the running game and not Sanchez who led it.. But at least now we know why you think Sanchez will one day be good, You think he's a matryoshka doll and the 2010 Sanchez is one of the inner dolls....Awww, how sweet.
