The talent has been upgraded. Still depends on how Wilson develops. I view the Jets as a "work in progress". They are definitely better but they are not a top contender yet. Also they have a lot of young players so growing pains are to be expected. Best case scenario we compete for and make the playoffs as a WC. Most likely they win 7-9 games but the future is looking bright. If JD has another good offseason then I think the playoffs should be expected in 2023.
Not only was that my first Jets game, it was my first live NFL game. I was 17 years old. What an experience. Of course they then went on to choke a phenomenal season away and I became a scarred Jets fan for life!
I agree. I’m pretty sure I had us at 7-9 wins somewhere on one of those preseason threads. I have no doubt that we’ll find a way to get them. I’m just saying right now…right now in this moment…we’re showing flashes of where we want to be in the future which is a perennial playoff team, but at the same time we’re lacking something on both offense and defense. That makes me feel like there will be some games where we completely implode. If we’ve turned a corner and we’re only going to improve from here, that’s what we want. We just don’t know what each week will bring. Looking at the schedule, who are we playing that we can definitely pencil a loss in? The Bills? The rest are maybes or a win. The Pats? Seattle? Denver? Those games suddenly seem doable for us. When the schedule came out, it was like we had one of the toughest schedules in the NFL to if we continue like this we got a shot at the playoffs. These next couple of games we’ll KNOW what we are and where we’re at.
There’s a reason they don’t put next weeks spread before this weeks game. Jets will be 4 pt favorites by Tuesday
Not to be cranky old guy, but is this board full of newbies. Jets 3-4, where has everyone been the past 40 yrs?
I didn't end up going with the over, thnak god. I teased the Jets + 13.5 and the Cowboys + 12 instead
