We won’t move on from Darnold unless he flat out stinks like bortles did... if he is anything above average he’s our QB for the considerable future. Personally I think he has high ceiling, not Mahomes but could get close... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Carolina will probably be in contention for a top 3 pick. With Ron Rivera as HC, I doubt that Washington will be that bad.
A couple of potential hall of fame WRs in the 2020 draft and all the Jets could do was select a bunch of guys who should assist in keeping the mediocrity alive and well.
Just took a break. I didn't feel the need to follow things so closely up until now. I did "lurk" a few times. Honestly, I was just waiting to see what happens when the real action begins. We'll soon see what we have. As for the question/poll, I definitely choose "Fire Gase/Add weapons". I think that's blindingly obvious. And while I don't think this happens, I would fire Gase by mid-season if they're floundering like they did last year. Regarding Sam, I don't see how you pull the plug on him at this point, given what he's had to deal with. That said, if he struggles, I wouldn't hesitate to make him sit a bit behind Flacco or even Morgan - send him a message that he needs to be the FQB he was drafted to be. And if that doesn't work, I would consider looking for his replacement. I don't think the Jets will be bad enough to get a top 3 pick (and they probably need a top 2 pick if they want a shot at a FQB), so I would see them having a QB competition between Darnold, Flacco, and Morgan for next year, but looking to find a true FQB somehow in the draft if Morgan doesn't show he's capable. I think Morgan IS capable though - what I saw of him reminded me a bit of Mahomes. To summarize, I'm hopeful that Sam can make the next step and prove he's the guy, regardless of what happens with Gase. I still think Gase is not the answer, supported by the reports of him still screwing around with Bell. It's good to be back!
