I think there's a good chance the Bears wrap up their division before we play them, too. And they will have a short week after a road MNF game in their division.

I thought about that too, but it looks like they'll still have the #2 seed to play for either way.

Oh no doubt. With Rodgers the game this Sunday would have been very competitive with a very, very good possibility of a Green Bay win. The GB defense is very good but without Rodgers I just can't see a Green Bay win at all.

I'm just saying the Pittsburgh defense is decidedly different with out Polamalu. They aren't near as good everywhere else as a result. A big opportunity for the Jets.

Big fucking deal....Sanchez stats two weeks ago against the 31st ranked pass D -
    17/33 164 3 INT

Steelers allow 67 yards/game on the ground...he's gonna have to throw and that should make everyone shit themselves. I dont see this one being much of a contest. Im sure I'll get slammed and called out for "not being a real fan" But if you could...for a minute...look at this game as a non Jets fan its not looking good.

Sure Pitts. O has looked like shit too but lets say we hold them to only 14 points. Who here has the faith that this O can put up more than that on the Steelers D???

I agree, but its been well documented that the Steelers defense, and even the whole team, plays much differently without Polamalu at Safety.

The odds for any team to beat them in their own house go up big time with him there. The Oakland Raiders beat them last year in their own house, and Oakland was fucking terrible last year.

With Troy out, Ben banged up, and their OL sucking, this may not be a game the Jets just lay down and die. They have a much better chance now then they ever did before this new.

Also Troy masks a lot of the problems that the Steelers have at CB.

Our receivers win that matchup without a doubt, now we just have to execute which I know we can.

Last year when the pressure was really on Mark did step up so I have faith that he'll come through this weekend.

True. I'm going to be there so I've been hoping all year both teams have something to play for, but now not so much.

Didn't the Steelers really struggle when Polamalu was out last year for a while? If I remember right they didn't even resemble the same defense. They missed the playoffs, which is rare.

Yeah they were a completely different team. He helps enormously in the pass and run game.

I still think rushing the ball will be tough, but this is huge for Mark. There is no reason why our receivers and Keller should not abuse the secondary.

McFadden has been struggling the most so I hope we pick on him and whoever they try and cover Keller with.

At the end of the day, the NFL is QB league and if the Jets have any hope of winning MARK SANCHEZ NEEDS TO STEP THE FUCK UP!

For what it's worth, I heard yesterday that The Steelers have given up more receptions to WR's than any team in the league (except Dallas - by 1).

I think people are giving the Steelers way too much credit when I hear these predictions that it won't be a contest. Are they expecting us to lose by 3 scores or more? I expect a close game either way. Other than the Pats disater, Since rex has been here, exactly how many times have we not been in a game until the very end?? In fact ... this could finally be the one where Folk breaks our hearts by missing a game winning FG late.

Polamalu out is huge. Every play with him on the field we run the risk of a big play from him. Their entire D revolves around him so with his first week out in awhile they should be in dissaray. Big loss to Pitt and big opportunity to the Jets!

Mark Sanchez needs to have his passes caught and his fundamentals return and he can carry this team to the tough task of beating PIT or NE in the divisionals. If they return he has a serious chance. If they don't then they'll get by in the WC round, but get killed in the divisionals.

Let's hope for more January magic.

Troy being out should make a significant difference but what bothers me is the Jets failure to adjust and take advantage of opponents weakness's.

There's a good chance of snow, that could help the WRs get open providing Sanchez can get them the ball and find guys in all-white uniforms.

Hate to see anybody hurt, but this certainly benefits the Jets.

Not for anything but we couldn't throw the ball on an awful Pats secondary and a terrible Dolphins secondary. Why would the Steelers sans Polomalu be any different?
