You seem to be the only one on this thread but I concur. Ultimately I think he'll be a great # 2 WR.

Terrible move except the rumor is that they will have Porter in uniform this weekend.

First, I'll point to legler's response which was on point.
Next, I recap my P.O.V. I don't particularly think any of the Running Backs coming out are all that great. I'm worried about Peterson's one dimensionality and tread on the tires after being worked to the bone for 3 straight years. Other than him, I am not impressed yet by anyone to take them in the first round. Also, I think the two most stocked positions are WR and DE/OLB next year which are also two of our biggest holes. I personally think we should take Quentin Moses or Gaines Adams (in that order) but would be ecstatic with one of the big wide receivers with the understanding that all of ours are basically mites.
Running back also would be a good position to fill in the second round due to the fact that although we don't have 1 great RB we have a bunch of good ones. Furthermore, running backs have the shortest life span so I would prefer waiting to get one until we are sure we are contenders. Finally, running back (along with safety and linebacker) is one of the few positions that can step in right away and make an impact, but doesn't need to be found inthe first round.

    only 2 holes to fill?

 I love it....a last minute win vs. the titans and now we have nothing to improve on.

Nothing beats a bipolar jets fan  you're probably going to think differently next week though.

I can do w/o McCareins. He's getting paid too much money to be our 3rd, soon to be 4th then 5th once Dwight is healthy and Smith fully grasps the position respectfully. Besides dropping passes he tends to take a long time getting to his breaks and does not attack the ball. He almost dropped that 20 yards or so pass in the middle of the field this past Sunday because he put his hands up late. I would like another WR, preferably one w/ speed but I don't want Rogers. First off, he does not meet the criteria of a Mangini type player and he would likely fail the physical being that he has a metal rod in his collar bone. I rather we pick up an unassuming FA WR w/ some potential. Todd Watkins was available for a short period after getting cut by Arizona but they later added him to their practice squad.

Until he proves otherwise, Tim Dwight offers us nothing. Basically the only bonus was that he could return kicks, but I want to see Washington back there or maybe Brad Smith or McCareins, I don't know, someone could do it and play WR and stay healthy I bet which is something Dwight can't seem to do.

I think everyone here is disregarding Coles simply because he had a ho-hum season last year playing with a third string quarterback and no running game. What more does Laveranues have to do to get some respect around here? This is the type of game he and a healthy Pennington typically enjoyed when both were healthy.

Both Coles and Cotchery show the necessary toughness to make tough catches over the middle, and McCareins is now where he should be. If the running game ever comes around, this could be our best wide receiver group in years.
