Peyton fuckin' Manning after his 3rd neck surgery, at the age of 36, in a new system and not hasnt played football in a year... He sure as hell aint the Manning of old
Tom Moore is 73 years old. If he wanted to be a full time OC, or what passes for it with Manning, he never would have left Indy in the first place.
When will people understand that Peyton Manning will never again be the same QB that he once was. 3 neck surgeries in the span of time he got them is asking for future trouble, especially on a football field.
Bet Manning learns the system before Sanchez. Sanchez going on year 4 still hasn't learned the system, and not like hes exactly replacing greatness. I can't wait till this offseason, and I hope Tanny and Woody don't think like you.
We could sign Jim Brown 1960, Jerry Rice 1990, Randy Moss 2003, Bruce Matthews, and Anthony Munoz... ... and Mark Sanchez wouldn't be a top 5 QB next year.
I think U R overlooking the fact that the NYJs have to sell PSLs otherwise if we even get on TV the viewer will be seeing many empty seats which would make Woody very, very unhappy. So the big splash (so to speak) for a Manning or some other big named player is something Woody MUST consider if we tank(no POs) this year. BTW you gave no mention to our OL which is probably right up there as priority 1 since Wayne Hunter lost to many games to count on my fingers. You know in FB there is a saying that 1 man cannot win a game BUT 1 player can easily lose you a game (see Wayne Hunter)
Ah i see. Well if that's the case, the Colts are stupid as hell and we'd never be able to afford him, without cutting half the roster.
It is groundhog day. Didn't we discuss all this in another thread yesterday. I'm out of here. This board is becoming unbearable.
Why do people keep saying "Don't do that, it will set the franchise back x amount of years". The Jets have been setting themselves back since 1970. We should be used to it by now. I have no problem with Tanny taking a win-now approach. If P.Manning puts us in the SuperBowl, then we as fans should be embracing this possibility. My perspective.
I agree with the OP except Jets also need to add a RB and let Shonn Greene be a change of pace back, which is what he is. And there aren't enough pieces in the world to make Sanchez a top 5 QB ever, let alone next year. Our only hope is that we can put some good offensive pieces in place and get an OC who can at least take advantage of Sanchez' shrinking bag of talents. Ultimately, Sanchez has two years left on his deal. Barring he suddenly develops an ability to read a defence and make good decisions, Jets should be looking elsewhere for a QB long term. I hope I am wrong.
The only way this post could have been better is if you had the power to close it right after posting that.
