that has nothing to do with it. a bad play call is a bad play call no matter if it ends up doing something good or bad for the team.
Which is why you have a D... It was a show of faith in the D...Buffallo didn't even score...we actually scored...and we won... NO ONE would be calling it a bad play if Buffalo gains nothing. It's not as if a 48 yard FG is fuckin automatic. Fan fodder...w/e.
I actually thought the play-calling was excellent today. However, I have been saying forever that all the nonsense in and media (and on this board) about play-calling was totally over the top and actually absurd at times.
Mangini is a beyond smart the guy is a savant. What were the odds that we score a TD on D because we gave the Bills another set of downs when they were already in FG range?
you're wrong. i would've called it a bad play even if buffalo lost 10 yards on the next play. it's called being unbiased and objective. more times than not you'd be better of declining the penalty. sometimes it could benefit you, but most of the time it will only make things worse.
i didn't pay too much attention in detail to every play call, but from what i remember it was better today than the last few weeks. our red zone efficiency sucked but i think that was more of a lack of execution than the play calls. again, i'd have to rewatch some of those plays
