The way I see it, winning this week only keeps us within striking distance of KC since we can't beat them on tiebreaker regardless we have to beat them on record. In the case of the Steelers though either way they have to lose once and we have to win the last two games, this week doesn't mean much vis-a-vis the Steelers.
I was playing around with the playoff machine tonight, and even if we win tomorrow, and Pittsburgh loses to Denver, we would probably have to win the last 2 also since the schedules for them, and KC are so criminally easy.
Thread goes back to when we were 4-2 and worrying about a west cost trip to Oakland. Back then we had the Dolphins and Raiders down as potential WC rivals with barley a mention of KC and the Jills.
guys please don't mistake this, this game is very important a lot of you are saying it won't really matter. but trust me this is a MUST WIN. If we win out we have a ton of possible scenarios with denver losing 5 or cincy losing out or KC losing one. if we lose this game all those get thrown out the window and we have to worry just about Pitt. making it a lot harder
So many scenarios for the Jets to get in. If they win out, they have a really good shot in my opinion.
Agreed. This is a big game. It's the least important of the 3 but getting to 11 wins is obviously our best shot.
This really does come down to us doing our job first and foremost. Let the other happenings fall into place.
We are making all these scenarios way too complicated. IMO It's quite simple actually. Forget the nonsense about the Bengals loosing all their remaining games. It really boils down to this: 1- KC and or Pittsburgh need to loose at least one game or we are out no matter what we do. 2- We concurrently need to pretty much run the table to have a fair shot, but for absolute sure WE MUST win against Buffalo and the Pats. Loose one of the last 2 and we are out unless the Steelers and or KC loose 2 games which is an absolute long shot. 3- Thus the game against Dallas is a crucial win not just for standings sakes, but to incentivize the team even more going back to Metlife to play the NE Pats. If Denver upsets Pittsburgh or Baltimore the Chiefs we will once again control our destiny. If so we should come out on fire with no one to blame but us. If our nemesis both win, the same scenario follows for week 16. Only the strong will survive the AFC wild card.
Lets stop worrying about everyone else and focus on what we control. WIN OUT and let everything fall into place worrying about what you can't control will not help you execute what you have in front of you at this very moment ! Focus on Dallas...etc but; that Patriot game better be the loudest and trashiest game Jets fans have hosted this year anything quieter will be a disappointment...J...E...T...S....JETS!
I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Denver finishing with 5 losses. I don't think it's likely, but IMO, it's worth keeping an eye on. I agree that there is virtually no chance the Bengals lose out.
Ill make it even more simple, neither Denver or Cincy is losing out so if the Jets run the table and KC or Pitt loses 1 game we are in. If the Jets lose to Dallas they can still make it in by winning the last 2 and Pitt losing one. So the Dallas game probably eliminates the KC route but leaves the Pitt one open.
Agreed but Denver doesn't have to lose out. Jets would hold a tiebreaker over them at 11-5. They have @PIT and the home vs CIN and SD. There is a real chance that they could lose 2 out of 3.
Denver with Mr Montana Ostweiler Cinnci with Mr Alabama McCarron hmmm... They both have like one game theyve played in right? So now the pressure cooker heats up..i say at least one has a pooper of a game two would be better smh Is Denver bringing Manning in to play?
Here is to the lowly Ravens to muster enough pride and drive to surprise the Chiefs with a major upset. Please Jets, take care of business tomorrow.
