Ok, so besides obviously rooting for us to win out and either PITT or KC to lose at least one game, the two alternate (but, remote) scenarios are: 1) Cincy implodes (If Cincy loses out and we win out, we finish at 11-5 and they finish at 10-6) Note: We can not win a tiebreaker with them at 10-6, because they will have a better conference record no matter what. 2) Denver implodes. (If Denver loses the next two games and we win out, we actually we would beat them in a tiebreaker.) So, long story short, while we definitely still want PITT to lose next week, if they do manage to win, there would be an outside shot that Denver could lose the following week to Cincy, in which case, we would own the tiebreaker over them at 11-5, should we win out. As for cincy, I don't see them losing out as being realistic because they still get both SF next week and Baltimore at home to close the season.
Didn't know we had the tie breaker over Denver... that's great. I could see them losing 2 of PIT,CIN and SD
I am proud to say that at this point in this up and down season I am actually expecting the Jets to keep winning.. After we hit the skids with 4 losses I was pissed Now we have LIFE and HOPE Please God LOSERS NO MORE !!
We will if we win out because we are currently 6-4 in conference and would finish 8-4 in conference. They are currently 6-3 in conference and would finish at 7-5 in conference if they lost any two of their last three.
Having written all of that, I don't expect either Denver to lose two of their last three or cincy to lose their last three. LOL. I just don't see it.
neither have a great QB atm. anything could happen. I'm kinda finding it hard to see PIT lose at these point but KC is bound to lose at least one, maybe OAK
I said it earlier in the thread. This just shows the importance of each game in the NFL. It's the best sport. Lose a home game to the Eagles, Gift wrap a win for Rex and the Bills, lose to a 3rd string QB in Houston, and losses in Oakland and New England seem acceptable at the time, but you realize it could come back to haunt you.
The Bills loss is the one that haunts me the most, by far. When their punter botched the snap, good teams score there 10 out of 10 times. There was no excuse for not putting that ball in the endzone.
That was so painful, I was at that game...After recovering the punt botch we should have scored to win that game.
Do any of these: 1) We win out and PITT or KC loses once. 2) We win out and Cincy loses out. 3) We win out and Denver loses any 2 of their last 3 games. 4) We win 2 of our last three and either PITT or KC loses twice. 5) We win 2 of our last three (beating Buffalo and NE) and Denver loses out. LOL
For some of the younger fans on here ... In 1985 the Jets went 11-5. The following season they were rolling again ... 10-1 ... including winning the last three by a combined score of 97-37. Then we got annihilated by the Dolphins 45-3 to fall to 10-2. NBC analyst, and former Buffalo Bill, Paul McGuire proclaimed on the next weeks pregame show "The Jets will not win another game all season". Injuries started to pile up, and the son of a bitch turned out to be right. After looking like a machine for 11 games, we wound up losing our final 5 games that season to finish 10-6. So ... Can the Bengals lose out having to play AJ McCaron at QB? Many of us on here have seen it happen. You never know.
holy shit we do. okay, so thats a consolation prize, if Denver fucks up vs Pit we just have to root against them to lose once or twice over the next two weeks… win another 2 or 3 and… we'd be in. whatever works...
This Bengals team isn't as banged up as that team was, though. It's possible, but probably very unlikely. .
I think it makes the NFL look bad when a 8 win team like the AFC South or NFC East are playing in the biggest games of the sport and a potential 11 win team is out but it's all matter of opinion. I want to see the 12 best teams play in the playoffs, the way it should be. If a team cannot take advantage of their lousy division, then they should not be given a playoff spot.
We're not in good shape for any tie breakers. We need to win out. Worst case scenario is we are 10-5 with a win and in scenario, and Rex and Buffalo knock us out. Makes me sick to even think about it.
We have to win out......Atleast we play NE at home.I don't like this Saturday game shit this week.....Why do they make us go to London,Play on Thursday and Saturday all in the same fucking season. And there calling it "Thursday Night Football" and its being played on a Saturday.I wish they would do away with this Thursday shit
