Exactly that was a out of conference game so not that big of a impact except on record. Now if Denver were to lose to Philly and we win either of our games we would be in based on the Raiders game. Miami losing one more as well.
I wouldn't put it past them to beat the Colts and have everything happen in their favor with regards to the other games. Then with everything in the Jets favor, they go out and lose an excrutiating close game to the Bengals where five WTF plays happen to make the Jets lose by 2 points. Call me a SOJ fan, but we have seen it too many times before. The only time watching this team where I thought the Jets were destined to win is in 1998 - I thought the famous Vinny helmet TD was the sign that the Jets were gong all the way. I remeber one time where the Jets missed three FG's in the second to last game of the seaon against Buffalo (a win would have gotten us into the playoffs). Then about 5-6 games go the Jets way in the last week of the seaon to put them in with a win. The Jets proceed go out and get stomped on the prime time game against the Oilers (the famous Buddy Ryan - Kein Gillbride fisticuffs). You hate to say it, but being a fan of the Jets should be an additional checkbox on an insurance form to signal your carrier that you have to pay extra premiums due to the likeliness of heart failure.
Right....the loss to the falcons was just wonderful. Its great to not be able to score more than 1 TD on the 30th ranked defense in the NFL, not be able to execute a FG formation, not able to run a 2 minute drill and not be able to make a defensive stop.
You are so fucking annoying. No one enjoys watching the Jets lose but the reality of the situation is that the Falcons game might have very little meaning to our playoff chances. Either way we were going to have to beat the Colts and Bengals, which is obviously not an easy task. I wouldn't expect your feeble mind to get that but I try anyway.
You clearly have nothing positive to say about the Jets ever. If you're not going to be fair and open-minded, just go away.
Lol... I wish someone can tell Francesa about the Yahoo NFL Playoff Generator... He is wasting a lot of time doing everything by hand.
Do you guys think if Rex decides to blitz at different points of the game and attempt to take a hit on Manning, that they will bench Manning? I'm not saying to play dirty but on the first play of the second series if Manning is still in there... send Scott and others at him...
No. The first play of the second series? Trying to imagine why you select that particular series, but sending "Scott and others" at him will probably work on 3rd and long, bearing in mind that Manning will torch you as easily as "take a hit." It's going to be a 50-50 proposition and luck will be a factor.
I'm pretty sure Rex will call a blitz or two in the first half, and I am sure every time he does it is with the expectation that they hit the QB, and I'm even more certain that the Colts expect such by the Jets and won't be surprised if that occurs and thus will alter their established game plan.
instead of reading countless pages. lemme get this straight. if we win out, DEN loses to PHI and MIA loses 1 of next 2 were in? what about the Ravens i thought they own the spot.
lol yeah I'm done worrying who wins and loses, ill come on this site and ask questions when we actually win. lol. but thanks for clearing it up.
You clearly don't know me and don't know that I have been a die hard Jets fans for the past 40 years. If Vision feels free to come on here and start spewing about how losing the bloody Falcons wasn't crushing I will respond to that kind of stupid commentary. The loss to the Falcons was a flipping disaster because the team came out and played like crapola and deserved to lose. Offense, Defense and STs all contributed to a pathetic display of lack of intensity, effort, execution, intelligence, professionalism and pride. It was the WORST loss of the season. No excuse for that kind of lackluster performance. If you found something positive from the Jets performance against the Falcons, feel free to enlighten me about what you think was positive.
I agree, plus cmon people we'd need much less help. All we'd need is either a Ravens or Broncos loss. Now we need Miami and Jacksonville to lose again.
You're not exactly a shining lray of sunsine and clarity yourself. If it somehow makes you warm & fuzzy to rationalize another pitiful performance and a complete lack of focus and intensity - thats your sad choice. I happen to disagree w/your defeatist rationailzations. If we'd done what we were supposed to do and beaten the falcons, then the entire playoff scenario would be far more positive. And you are wrong, we wouldn't necessarily have to beat the colts and the bengals. Just because you come up w/some false rationalization for why a terrible disheartening loss isn't so bad, please understand that the rest of us are not obliged to agree with you. If you find that annoying too bad.
We'd still have to beat indy and bengals even if we won the falcons game. Because we are screwed in conference so Baltimore and Denver would still have to lose again. The only thing that losing to the Falcons effecting our playoff chances was now we need Miami and Jacksonville to lose again. But in all reality that was a dreadful loss on sunday. Even though it didnnt kill us in terms of wild card it just hurrts to see ur team miss three field goals and leave so many points on the field that shouldve happened.
