If we won today we would have been in the #6 seed for WC since were ahead of the Broncos.

    Damn

Even if the Ravens win out, which I think will happen, we could still get the 6th seed by winning out, having the Fins lose to HOU or PITT (very possible), Broncos losing to PHI (very possible), Jags losing to NE (very possible). You're right, it's not that bad. We still have a chance, but it's going to be very, very hard to win out.

Damn, if we had won today, we'd be in such a good position.

The most unlikely scenario is the Jets winning out.

Someone told me JaMarcus Russell threw the game winning TD too. I passed out after that because my mind could not handle that scenario occurring in real life.

Do we have the tiebreaker over the Steelers? If so we have to hope they win so they'll be motivated against the Ravens and most importantly the DOlphins

    Exactly. That's the problem.

It's actually not impossible and if the Jets win next week, they'll have a chance going into Week 17 which is all we can ask for.

Next week- we need to root for the Pats (barf), Eagles (Denver just lost to Jamarcus...), Texans (who are playing great ball), and the Steelers (Ravens games with the Steelers are usually tight and Big Ben looks on-target today).

winning out is little less than impossible, considering the teams we are playing and the way we played today.

On that Yahoo simulator it chooses ways of determining the win like "Highest Win %" and "Highest D"

If you set Highest D we are playing the Pats.

    Colts 42 JETS 14.....Sanchez 17/37 160 yds/2 ints/1 td
    Manning 10/14 200 yds 3 tds/0 ints(taken out in 2nd Q after 21-0 lead)

The other teams losing might happen but that's not the tough part

The tough part is this very mediocre Jets team winning two games. I haven't seen a Jets team give away this many leads and lose in so many close games in a long time.

Oakland has been good to us this year in upsetting teams...this is possible.

um, did everyone not witness what happened today? Who in their right mind would think we can beat an undefeated colts team when we lost to a pathetic falcons team?

First of all the Falcons are not a pathetic team. They are not a great team, maybe not even a good team but certainly not a pathetic team. It doesn't matter anyway, this week has nothing to do with next week. I think it is unlikely we beat the Colts next week but I don't think it is impossible, nor do I think it would be a huge surprise.

They are 4-6 in the AFC, the Jets are 5-5. If both win out they will be 6-6 with the Jets 7-5. If that is the #1 tiebreaker then yes, the Jets own the tiebreaker.

the sad thing (which we have seen too many times before) is that other teams are doing their best to get the jets into the playoffs.
