Honestly, the Jets were in a tough position at #6. The entire 10 top of that draft has been disappointing...except Jake Long, Mattie Ryan & Jerod Mayo.
I doubt we would have drafted CBs in back to back years. The choices at # 6 were limited. Sedrick Ellis & Derrick Harvey, 2 needs, have been disappointing.
Jets | Peters scheduled to visit Thu, 18 Mar 2010 11:44:30 -0700 Aaron Wilson, of the National Football Post, reports the New York Jets are scheduled to meet with University of Kentucky DT Corey Peters
I haven't seen much of Corey Peters. I will admit, but from what I did see, he seems like a finesse guy to me? Kinda smallish for a DT isn't he? Maybe a 3-4 DE prospect? From what I did see, he looked like he had a solid motor and had some decent speed for a "bigger" guy? Am I wrong? Guess I need to go look this kid up.. haha
The 4-3 designations are still given to everyone. He's a 3-4 DE at 6'3 300lbs. 6-3 is the shortest a DE should be. Its rare a 6'2 DL is on the front 3 in a 3-4 defense. nflDraftscout.com has him ranked 20th out of all DTs, but there have been plenty of gems that were ranked that far down... like Chansi Stuckey. The Jets have to find that late round value this year, its important.
This is you if we draft him in the first rd. I don't know if he'll make it to the 29th spot though.
it will be a miracle if Mathews gets past the Chargers. let's hope Revis Christ turns water into wine on April 23.
I'm starting to think it'll be a miracle if he makes it past Houston at 20. They're supposedly really high on him and he'd be a nice compliment to Steve Slaton.
http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Source-Iupati-works-out-for-the-Jets.html Top-ranked offensive guard Mike Iupati worked out for the New York Jets this week, according to a source close to the program.
Nice, I still am a big Iupati fan, it would be hard to imagine him being around at 29, and if he somehow is available, he has to be the BPA right? this draft is really irritating in the sense that there are so many players that can just go anywhere from #5-#30, its starting to get really annoying not having any semblance of a sense for which guys will be around when we pick.
Jets | Held private workout with Fisher Comment (0) Fri, 19 Mar 2010 07:26:33 -0700 Aaron Wilson, of the National Football Post, reports the New York Jets held a private workout with Indiana University CB Ray Fisher Thursday, March 18, according to a source. Outstanding special team player...kickoff returner. Converted from WR to CB. Very fast player....low 4.3 speed. Small...5'9" 180.....from Cleveland Glenville..one of Ohio's powerhouse schools..home of Ted Ginn. Could see a late round pick used on Fisher..very versatile.
NFL | P. Robinson scheduled to meet with four teams Comment (0) Fri, 19 Mar 2010 12:59:59 -0700 Aaron Wilson, of the National Football Post, reports Florida State CB Patrick Robinson are scheduled to meet with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans, New York Jets and Green Bay Packers. I'm not a Robinson fan, he's in WRs rear view mirrors too often. Waiting on wait on hate from MR E...in 3.2.1...
^ what does Electric call him? Toast Robinson? yeah...i'll file this guy under "Please don't Draft" along with Jerry Hughes.
Yes. I can't believe it. Hopefully Rex Ryan and company will throw on some tape and get tired of watching him get burned.
