I think the bias against Cohen is that he is from the same group that have been running things since parcells. For those that want major sweeping changes he looks like a horrible choice. For woody he may seem like a safe play though.
That's where we can agree to disagree. You can't change your scouting dept a few months before the draft. You can't bring in scouts from another team, no smart team would release them, to give away the other team's info.
Last Year Visitation List --> http://thejetsblog.com/main-page/new-york-jets-2012-player-interest-list/ The link above is from a thread last year --> http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=71772 Was pretty fun to browse through & compare to who Jets drafted & how they performed last season. ==== Maybe we can check it out & gain some insight into this year's draft.
If you are watching the East / West game, you will see that Michael is running great and finishing his runs going forward.
Jets intrested in Tyrann Mathieu The Jets have Revis talking to this kid apparently they are intrested in the honey badger
Forget his issues. He can work those out. He isn't a killer. Three reasons why this would be a dream come true: 1)Will hands down be our best punt returner in a while. Will give us the explosiveness our punt return needs. 2)Playmaker on defense. Him working on the inside is exactly where we want him, and where he was most effective at LSU. He would be a perfect fit as our third-fourth corner. He will make plays. 3)He won't cost much. This team doesn't have picks to spare and need to improve a lot. Getting someone of his talent in the fourth would be an absolute steal. I am an LSU fan, and I can say, without a doubt, that he is the most exciting player I have ever seen. He is just what this team needs.
Depending on what we do with the 9th pick.... if we trade back we would pick up another 2nd or 3rd round. Pick... So we could pick him up
If he could play safety, I'd be 110 percent be on board with him as a mid round pick but since I am reading he may be a CB only.....we just have too many needs at the moment to take someone like this honestly.
They make it sound like he has a crack addiction so what he got caught smoking weed, Do you have any idea how many athlethes smoke weed in college it isnt a big deal to me in the least, This guy is gonna be a steal if we can get him in the 3rd or 4th, Lol marajuanna possesion charges , It's legal in 5 or 6 states , oh no not marajuanna , i can't stand the media even more after reading this article. Anybody who thinks weed is a serious problem has never been around anyone who's smoked it and has probably never even been to a party before or ever had fun a day in there uptight shitty mundane going thru the motions boring life
Watch some highlight films on youtube, and keep in mind that these are not his best plays over years, but rather daily occurances for him. In 27 career games, Tyrann had 6 sacks, 4 picks, 19 Pass deflections, 6 fumble recoveries, ELEVEN forced fumbles, and scored four touchdowns. Keep in mind also that these were his true freshman and sophomore years, and he wasn't even a highly touted recruit. He forced a turnover in more games then not. In 2011 he scored as many touchdowns as Fitz, Andre, and Steve Smith scored this regular season in less games. The guys a beast, and he really would fit perfectly in between Cromartie and Revis, and could seriously improve our special teams.
You don't need weed to have a fun time. Its obviously not that bad of a thing, but it is when the law is involved and your a professional athlete getting arrested every couple months. I still say that if he's there in the 4th, take him. We need a playmaker and maybe he or Wilson can move to FS.
I'm not sure we should waist a pick on a corner. We have a bunch of more pressing needs. If he last into round 5 then maybe, but the first 3-4 picks need to be our major need areas and cb isn't a major need.
With him it's not so much the weed its a lifestyle issue. The fact that he was given multiple chances and still showed no regard for the consequences is alarming. It brings into question his priorities and his desire to play the game more than anything. Can you ever post without criticizing the media? Its a little annoying that even basic stories you have to express a problem with. With Matheiu all they are doing is reporting facts - he was kicked off the team for multiple drug violations, General managers are concerned etc. There's not some grand conspiracy to paint him into something he' s not, frankly they don't have too- he's pretty good at being a tool all on his own.
I don't want to trade Cro given Revis is coming off an ACL tear and his contract situation going forward is really up in the air and I'm not a big fan of Kyle Wilson as a starting corner on the outside. He opens the gate way too often, doesn't get a good jam, and doesn't have the recovery speed to make up for it and shadow a guy step for step. My ideal situation at corner would be Revis and Cro locking down the outside with Mathieu in the slot and Kyle Wilson relegated to dime back duties. Or if someone thinks they can "fix" Kyle Wilson, I'd rather trade him for a mid round pick than Cro even with Cro's bigger salary. I'm just not a big Kyle Wilson fan. I don't think the Jets should extend his contract after his rookie deal is up unless he makes major strides in several areas in 2013.
