I have my reservations. I'd rather keep our 2nd rd pick and take our chances. JFinPA....you know from being in our mock, round 2 has some real nice value and players.
Here's a link showing team visits of every NFL Team Most of the Jet's visits were covered in earlier posts in this thread. http://draftguys.com/index.php/articles/1/2009_nfl_draft_player_team_interest_rumor_mill_-_april_10/
Great info! I suggest everyone take a look.. Of course, plenty of guys get drafted - even in the first round - without ever meeting with the team that picks them.. But it gives us an idea of where this team's draft priorities could be.

^^^To pare this down to the players who were brought in for a visit in NJ: Quarterbacks: Rhett Bomar (Sam Houston State), Nate Davis (Ball State), Matthew Stafford (Georgia), Mike Teel (Rutgers). Running backs: Donald Brown (UConn), Knowshon Moreno (Georgia). Wide receivers: Kenny Britt (Rutgers), Percy Harvin (Florida), Jeremy Maclin (Missouri), Louis Murphy (Florida), Hakeem Nicks (North Carolina). Tight ends: Richard Quinn (North Carolina). Offensive linemen: Will Beatty (UConn), Xavier Fulton (Illinois), Andre Smith (Alabama). Defensive linemen: Sammie Lee Hill (Stillman), Peria Jerry (Ole Miss), B.J. Raji (Boston College), Darrell Scott (Clemson), Jamal Westerman (Rutgers). Linebackers: Jonathan Casillas (Wisconsin), Brian Toal (Boston College). Cornerback: Darius Butler (UConn), Vontae Davis (Illinois), Bradley Fletcher (Iowa), Malcolm Jenkins (Ohio State), Mike Mickens (Cincinnati), Greg Toler (St. Pauls, Va.). Safety: David Bruton (Notre Dame) I like seeing Louis Murphy on the list. Ditto for Dorrell Scott and Richard Quinn. I'm starting to see a good draft take shape. Moreno, Jarron Gilbert (if available), Louis Murphy, Richard Quinn or Dorrell Scott.
I hope we can get an extra third somehow... that way we can fill all our major needs (WR,DE,TE,RB)... PS: did we only bring in 1 TE?
I wonder if we took a look at someone else in free agency... After that Bajema guy I read nothing about it...
IMO, it looks like the Jets will be drafting a TE in a later Round. Richard Quinn or Anthony Hill are the best options for blocking TEs and should be considered strongly by Gang Green.
I agree. I'd suspect Quinn comes on board in the 4th. I don't think we can afford to wait until the 6th to see if he's still around.
I think Quinn will be available in Rd 6 (no Rd 5 pick). Quinn is an outsatanding blocker, but doesn't have much of a history receiving the ball...which will probably keep him in rd 6 or 7. On the other hand, if the Jets want Hill, they have to get him in Rd 4.
Jets | Huber recently worked out Comment (0) Wed, 15 Apr 2009 12:17:00 -0700 Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports the New York Jets recently worked out University of Cincinnati P Kevin Huber.
He's a possibility. No mention of any visits with the Jets (may not mean much). I mentioned Hill & Quinn, it seems the Jets are very high on both and both have visited. Reading around the internet...Quinn is very high on the Jet's radar. Quinn has very little body of work as a receiver, but is an outstanding blocker. I believe Hill may have a better upside.
NFL | 12 teams met with Levitre at NFL Combine Comment (0) Wed, 15 Apr 2009 20:40:16 -0700 Ed Thompson, of Scout.com, reports 12 NFL teams set aside time to formally meet with Oregon State OT Andy Levitre. The Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans, Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, San Diego Chargers, New York Jets, New York Giants and Oakland Raiders all interviewed him.
Teams like the Texans and the Cardinals baffle me. Neither of these teams have a good track record in the draft; you'd think they'd want to bring in a few more prospects for a closer look. It's not like their GM's have been weighed down with a million free agent signings. I don't think it's a coincidence that teams like the Colts, the Patriots and the Steelers- teams who have had a lot of success in the draft- also have the longest list of prospects they've personally checked out. It isn't luck. And look at the Bills! They've sucked in the draft, but have they learned? The only player they've worked out who would be appropriate to draft at their round 1 spot is Brandon Pettigrew. I have no pity for the them. Their two best recent round one draft picks- Lynch and Whitner- are in trouble with the law. THAT'S WHY YOU TAKE A CLOSER LOOK.
I agree with you that Quinn is a one-dimensional TE, but he has potential as a receiver. He didn't get any looks as a receiver at UNC because according to his coach the team had 3 NFL caliber WRs and he rarely ever chose to dial up the TE in the passing game. With that being said, his stock is on the rise and he is considered a 4th round prospect right now.
