I don't get this second part of the deal personally speaking there's more value draft pick placement wise in the 5th over the later rounds so why move down in the higher round to just move up in the later round and miss out on a better chance of getting a better player?
I think Mac views the 5th round and later as being long shot territory. He's basically driving up the quantity to try the "throw shit at a wall" approach.
Instead of picking who’s shit might stick he should have rolled these picks to higher picks next year. If Mac really thinks round 5 is garbage don’t much deeper into the garbage pile. I don’t like this at all, the Vikes must have compromising pics of Mac and the Viking dude in a hotel room!
Or, he knows more about these players than any of us do and thinks that he can get the ones he likes in the 6th round so he takes advantage of another GM who really likes a particular player and parlays it into higher picks in later rounds.
