Some people hang on to statistics a bit toooooooooooo much. These statistics really prove nothing at all, I feel you are reaching here with this one.

And we are like no team you have ever seen.

I am starting to feel sorry for Jets fans, This one is going to really hurt.

Look let's be REAL ... handing the ball off to our wideout on an endaround is not exactly the staple of our running game, and I'm sure even you know that.

If it makes you feel better looking at the numbers and seeing 16-54 that's fine ... but I and all other Jets fans saw enough to know that when we hand it to Jones or Greene, with our O-line and FB blocking you couldn't stop it... not it the 1st quarter ... and not in the 4ht quarter.

There's a reason why you're ranked #24 against the run (there's only 32 teams in the league BTW) ... Because you're not real good at stopping it. You're going to be in for a very long day on Sunday.

Your run defense is nothing special. You have a HOF QB who is in the discussion of GOAT. The key will be keeping the ball out of his hands and keeping the game close. If we can do that, our season rushing average should be attainable, and we'll have a shot. If we can't, we won't hit our average and probably won't win.

You seem to think we are expecting a win because we don't think it's LUDICROUS that we could rush for our season average.

It's funny how Colts fans think their team is more then just Manning..without him you'd be 8-8 at best. I know your defenses step up in the playoffs but there is nothing about your run D that convinces me you will hold us below our season AVERAGE of 170. We have a fresh stud RB, best run blocking O-Line in the NFL, and an O-Coordinator that will not shy away from running.

    Info

You are probably right we would be about a.500 team without PM.

Check out the game log of IndyvsMiami this year

.nfl.com/gamecenter/2009092100/2009/REG2/colts@dolphins (oops cant post links hehe)

This was when we played the Dolphins in Miami and they tore us a new one with the Wildcat.

    239 yards rushing that night!

But because of PM, Indy wins.

Check out the stat line of Dallas Clark that night... then go back in your mind and how often you have seen anyone have 180+ yards on 7 catches and it be a TE!

Dallas is who gives most teams matchup issues.

I only raise this point to say we are a little more than just PM on offense and Mathis and Freeney are great players on D.

So get your 170 but if those long drives end up as 3 and not 7, it may be all for naught.

Check out the TOP in that game.

Miami had the ball Time of Possession 45:07

    And LOST.

And no I am not saying you guys are Miami... only mentioning this to dispute the old addage of "keep Manning on the sideline, run run run etc.

None of us know what is gonna happen... I am as nervous as ever and would not be surprised to walk out of my lower level seat with our season over. We have seen that happen far too often to EVER be arrogant about this.

Dude ... they are ABSOLUTELY not going to stop our running game. Like I said a few posts earlier ... they're ranked #24 against the run for a reason ... because they're not good at stopping it. And we're ranked #1 in running for a reason ... because we're very good at doing it.

Even a person who never saw a football game in their life would look at these numbers and know that the Colts are in alot of trouble. the only way we don't run all over them is if we don't run.

That can only happen if our D spits the bit and puts us in a big hole. I'm confident that won't happen.

Yea Miami gave us the blueprint that game. All we have to do is play better than there shitty pass defense and we should be able to follow that blueprint to a victory.

The Colts run D looked awesome that game.

The 1st game means nothing to me. The Jets are a much better team then in week 16. They are more confident. Sanchez has gained confidence.

Lets make things simple for the Colts fans

Put Peyton on the Jets and Sanchez on the Colts and who wins? LOL! It's not even a contest.

The Colts have better weapons then the Jets but Peyton Manning can make anyone better. Dustin Keller would be his Dallas Clark. J-Co would be Reggie Wayne. He'd take shots with Braylon Edwards. I'm sure Clowney would be more involved.

The difference is, we have the Jets defense, not Miami. We won't let you score that much in 15 minutes.

Another what if post by you.
    I am not surprised.

Why don't you go pick the games out of the whole Colts season that you don't like the stats and then compare them to the Jets.

That should keep you happy for a while.

Games are 60 minutes plus overtime if needed.
Seasons are 16 games plus the playoffs.

How many games have been stopped at halftime and a win awarded?

They are just choosing a convenient point during the game to "end it" so their stats look favorable. I could say "if the game ended at 14:00 left in the 3rd quarter, the Jets would have won 10-9"

You also have to substitute pey-pey for tall. That might about cover it.
