PFF also rated the Bills OL as 2nd best in the league and Demetress Bell as one of the best LTs last season. Anybody who actually watched the OL and Bell knows that was simply untrue.

Plain and simple, the geek squad's algorithm for statistically rating OLers sucks because OL play really can't be quantified the way some other positions can be. Hell, unless you know what the blocking assignments actually were when watching film, you can't always tell whether a particular player whiffed on a play or was attempting to make up for somebody else who missed a block.

    Simple as this:

    1. Give him a shot.
    2. If he beats out WFH, GOOD! It isn't saying much anyway but you CAN say you UPGRADED the RT position.
    3. If he can't even beat out WFH, he's worthless anyway. CUT.

I don't know where you saw them rank bills o-line as 2nd best but I can't find that. I've never found their 'rankings' to be worth much but the individual grading seems to be pretty accurate from what I've been able to verify.

Pff does watch the games, so suggesting they didn't is unfair. As for Bell, he only played 7 games at LT last year and yes, he received positive grades from pff. They didn't give him outstanding grades, but positive.

I didn't watch the bills games focusing on bell so i can't disagree with you.

It's not too difficult to focus on an olineman and determine whether he's done his job most of the time. It can be difficult in the event of poor o-line play where sometimes more than one guy could potentially be the one at fault but for the most part it's fairly straight forward.

We do not need this guy but we need depth badly----if I were the GM , I would have addressed this last year at this time instead we stand pat,,,it amazes me that we have Watne Hunter as our starter and zero depth----I dont get it
