I've seen both players many times.

Harvin, when he's healthy, is a definite game breaker. He's not a Typical NFL WR, more of a hybrid , Reggie Bush type player. David Clowney can be the burner the Jets need to stretch the field. Clowney is the fastest NY Jet and has more experience at WR than Harvin.

Hakeem Nicks is a physical run over your ass WR with great hand and knows how to move the ball upfield. Nicks has some of the best hands I've ever seen, they are like visegrips.

I've never been so sure that Hakeem Nicks will be a very good NFL player.

I go to Duke, I watched a lot of ACC football, I watched several UNC games during the season, the bowl game, and I'll tell you Hakeem Nicks is a player. Best combination of size/speed/hands/route running in the draft, maybe with the exception of Crabtree

Harvin is a terrible choice. How did Chad Jackson fare? Troy Williamson? Jabar Gaffney? Peter Warrick? Andre Caldwell? Dallas Baker? Reche Caldwell?
Harvin fits two categories which you dont want to fit into:
-A product of the UF Spread offense where you just outrun the other team.
-And a pure burner who lacks true route running skills/great hands (Difference between Ted Ginn and Desean Jackson. Both can run, but Jackson is the better route runner/has better hands)

Maclin would be the best possible situation for us. He is a big beast who is going to be a playmaker in the pros.

I like Nicks or Britt. I'd be happy with either one but I think Britt at 17 would be a reach (Nicks at 17 wouldn't)

percy harvin is a special teamer, and that's about it. he is tiny, not that fast, and never played real WR his entire college career. He is not as good as Reggie Bush, who in and of himself is a mediocre NFL player. just b/c you saw him play in a high school style offense running wild doesn't mean he is at all an NFL level WR.

I'd be thrilled with either Nicks or Britt. Trading back around 25 to take Britt would be a good idea, and I'd be happy with Nicks at 17.

Still holding out for Josh Freeman in the 1st round over a WR though (cue the Freeman hatred).

For all the DHB fans, on NFL network the Colts and Ravens both said they want to trade up for him (well people associated with the city) and at 17 imo it's too early but he won't be there for us in round 2.

That being said, I picked Harvin.

Nicks is a good choice but he lacks what we need most and thats great speed. If not nicks i would go with Heyward-Bey who has true receiver size at 6'2 210 LBS and runs a 4.3 but playing at Maryland most people dont know much about him. An the other guy i would go with is Jeremy Maclin good size great receiver skills and has the great speed.

for me its Maclin/Nicks or work some trade magic to get Britt before pick 49 cuz he wont last that long.

as long as we dont draft DHB or Percy Harvin (in either case id go apeshit)

We lack speed? How about Clowney? He's the fastest NY Jet.

i want maclin, but im not a maclin/crabtree or bust guy... i'd be happy if we passed on maclin for something other than a QB and then grabbed britt or something in the 2nd

He's 5'11 and 200 pounds...and he's very, very fast. I still don't want the Jets to draft him...but he's not "tiny" and slow.

If PH is used like Reggie Bush is used by the Saints, he'll be successful in the NFL. He needs to be a running back that splits out to receiver in a few packages.
