i dont think he was saying either side was right or wrong, just that you cant bring your family to a game anymore because of drunken idiots. i think that applies to all parties involved.
I have never seen anything like this occur at a Jets game I've attended. I would have no problem with bringing my family to a game. My point is that people can act like drunken idiots anywhere. The Fins fan would have got his block knocked off acting like that in most scenarios I could imagine, not just at a football game. If a fight like that did happen near me and I had a family with me, I'd simply move to a safe distance if I felt it were necessary.
Oakland is probably the biggest shit hole on the face of the earth and so is that fat fuck. Phins fan is a fag too, fuck both these teams.
It is sad that this crap has to go on. My daughter is turning 16 next year and I am taking her to NYC for her birthday and would love to take her to a Jets/Pats game since she is a huge Pats fan (puke), but I don't think I dare. I would feel terrible if anything bad happened.
No, murder is not cool by any means in a stadium. People still understand its a fucking game. Fights always end in stadiums when someone falls to the ground. This dude went down in one punch because the dude that hit him was easily 360 lbs.
I doubt a 16 year old girl is at much risk even if she wears a Pats jersey. Any clown starting something with a girl would likely get filled in fairly quickly by someone else.
Do you really believe a person has to be talking smack to be attacked by opposing fans. If that family man dares to wear his teams colors or Jerseys to the oppsing teams games the odds are some asshole will start up with them. This goes double, no triple, if the opposing teams is beating the homes team ass. I am not saying that it will happen every time, but, more and more this is becoming noraml behavior at NFL games or sporting events in greneral. This is the result of fans arriving 5 to 6 hours before a game and spending 4 to 5 hours of that time drinking. No it is not ALL the fans, but it is now enough of them that, what I mention will happen soooner or later. An the fact that people on this board and else where think that it's cool , or the asshole got what he deserved, or at the game, they egg on the combattens because they want to see a fight shows you how out of hand the whole situation is becoming. If fans from both sides would agree that this behavior will no longer be tolerated, and call the security people when this starts to develop and throw the assholes out and ban them from coming back, things would change in a big hurry. Yet, as I said, this will not happen until that one fan is killed and the NFL finally steps in a puts and end to this kind of behavior..... JMHO
I can't stand seeing over reactions to opposing fans. (not referring to this fight-- he had it coming) There is really no reason at all to even be a dick to an opposing fan unless he's instigating. I think what most people from the NY/NJ area don't realize is that in other parts of the country, fans are not nearly as diverse. When I was in High School, I had friends who routed for the 49ers, Bengals, Pats, and Bears- not just the Giants or Jets. When I went to College at Penn State, you didn't see that kind of diversity from the locals. You saw Eagles or Steelers- that's it. I think since our area is so much more diverse, we are more used to opposing fans than most. How many people in Pittsburg do you think route for any team other than the Steelers? I think we need to have a little more class, and not have the narrow minded mentality as so many others. These same guys who can't handle seeing an opposing fan probably have the same mentality towards minorities, or anyone different than they are. Maybe I'm stretching it, but go to bum fuck PA and see how willing they are to accept a minority. OK that was an uncalled for rant- I'm done now.
First of all I'd never wear away gear to a game, especially with my family. I probably wouldn't even go to one. That's just stupid. Secondly, if you act like an asshole like that guy did, you're going to get fucked up. Why is it just a football game you think this behavior would occur at? Don't you think if he walked into a bar, started talking shit to everyone and punched the biggest guy in there he'd also get fucked up? How about if he walked into a grocery store and tried the same thing? Don't act like a retard and you won't be treated like one.
I would like to think so, but I doubt the parents of the 8 year old kid in Cleveland went to the game thinking some drunk asshole was going to tackle their kid.
It's all about how you act. I used to wear my Mets hat to Yankee stadium all the time and people would say shit to me. Usually I would just laugh and depending on my perception of the person's mood maybe say something back. That situation didn't just suddenly blow up, the dolphins fan had plenty of time to shut up and let the whole thing blow over. You know going into an opposing stadium wearing your team's shit that people are going to say stuff to you. If you just want to blend in an watch the game don't wear any of your team's shit to the game. The moral high horse is lame. People were drinking and shit was said, somebody got punched out for it. That's how things go sometimes.
Now I couldn't watch it with sound but it appears that the fans tried to save this guy's ass. You could see them trying to calm other guys down. I think they knew what this idiot was getting himself into as they've seen it too many times.
That idiot Dolphins fan threw the first punch. How the fuck are you going to swing at a big dude standing a row ABOVE YOU? How much leverage did he think he was going to get? What a moron.
Yeah, that was a guy in full on self destruct mode. Even wearing his jersey he could have walked away from it plenty of times with nothing more than an earful of abuse, and he only got clobbered when he started it. There was only one possible way that his course of action could have ended. Colleen, the example in Cleveland is akin to not crossing a road because very occasionally someone gets run over, and even then there's a lot of doubt about what actually happened at the Bengals game. Every week thousands of fans wear opposition colours to a game and don't get anything worse than some relatively harmless abuse. I don't think you should worry too much about taking your daughter to a game.
I've been to a Raiders game, I've been to an Eagles game now, and it's really not that much worse than the Jets games. In any of those stadiums, a visiting fan acting up in the cheap seats is always a bad idea. Heinz Field and the place where the fish play are much more tame in comparison.
also never start a fight from a row down..you have to punch up which makes your punch worth shit...while the large 250 pound guy you just swung at gets to punch down hill at your face! Dumb ass phin fan
