Oh this is funny. The gay avatars are getting reported, then the guy reported one gay avatar for making fun of another gay avatar!
While we're going with stupid hypotheticals, it's also entirely possible he turns out to be better than Revis. Wilson showed aptitude for running with receivers and maintaining body position. His main issue was that he had a problem with locating the ball and in time which is a typical problem associated with - are you ready for this? - A FUCKING ROOKIE. It's also a problem he started to shed late in the season. The Roethlisberger bullet to the face mask in last year's AFCC was a direct result of him getting a better understanding for the speed of the game and developing a better anticipation for the throw. Sheppard was burned frequently and was a walking holding penalty when he wasn't warming a stretcher. Last season, Wilson gave up a bunch of catches early that could have easily been defended if he could have located the ball, but rarely was he ever flat-out burned and nowhere near so as much as Lito was. As for the latter two, neither were ever a noticeable problem. He did a good job of keeping egregious contact to a minimum and played in all 16 games in the regular season and all 3 in the post season. For Wilson to actually be worse than Sheppard, he's going to have to develop a few problems he didn't show as a rookie. Actually remember a lot of what the secondary The Jets started the game with Lowery opposite Revis because Sheppard was benched for abysmal play. Rex then benched Lowery for Sheppared for a few series and reversed the decision later in the game to bench Sheppard for a second time. All the while the Jets were playing with Drew Coleman matched up against Austin Collie because Strickland was injured(one reason i'm weary of that signing). Do you honestly think that putting Wilson opposite Revis will lead to this? The fucking paranoia over the #2 CB position on this board is getting laughable. Whether it's lingering fear and hatred over the Gholston debacle or not I don't know but the second a rookie fails to perform right out of the gate this board starts sprouting either a group of who looks for every surface level excuse as to why they are guaranteed to be a liability/failure or a bunch of coddling pussies who think that keeping a player off the field longer is going to help their development. Fucking throw Wilson into the fray in and let's see if the kid can ball. I'm willing to bet we won't be disappointed with the results come December.
