It's all very nice that Maine is suppodely sending a message, but I think it's much more likely that he's overthrowing the ball.

Interesting misstatement by Gary - "a couple of misplays by the Mets leading to a run." In fact, neither Maine's poor decision to throw the bunt to third nor Green's throw (or Reyes' misplay according to Keith) had anything to do with the run scoring, which just illustrates why fielding doesn't matter nearly as much as hitting and pitching.

So far Maine is the only guy for either team to hit the ball hard. Mets need a big hit from Lo Duca.
