epic fucking fail i'm struggling not to say something i'm going to regret here about the outcome of that play.
He's a 4th outfielder. He's good off the bench and when he gets one start a week. When he plays regularly the warts start to show. I liked it much better in April when he wasn't playing as much. He looks to be done for a while now. Jeff Conine, anyone? The Reds can't possibly be looking to keep him considering he'll be 41 later this month and the Reds blow.
Between Heilman, Schoewensuck and our inabilty to score with runners in scoring position makes me wanna throw up.
Other then the starting pitching this team has been playing miserable baseball for awhile now. Absolutely brutal to watch lately as well.
I have to agree, we haven't been getting anything from Beltran, Wright, Reyes, and with the exception of a breif stretch Delgado. I have to say that we started playing like shit since Clippard shut us down a few weeks ago. It appears that we haven't been the same since then.
Looks like losing Green is the one OF too many, we are 5-4 since he has been hurt and that doesn't include this game
Reyes has been the one constant but without anyone hitting behind him I guess it "seems" like he hasn't been doing as much.
Yeah he is still above .310 but his runs and SB seem to be down though, other than Lo Duca nobody is hitting take away tonight.
Like I said, if his runs are down it's because the people behind him aren't hitting. He's got a .400 OBP or close to it, can't ask for much more out of your leadoff guy.
Wow, I'm glad I left to play basketball. I heard the recap on WFAN and just about drove off the road when I heard about Heilman's pitching, Gotay's running, and Endy's hitting and injury. I'd say "thank God for the starting pitching," but all tht's done is keep them in games until the bullpen blows it. June has not been kind so far to this team (1-4, scoring 2 runs or less in all four losses).
The Mets are seriously running out of outfielders. Ben Johnson has shown nothing. Carlos Gomez is not ready. Lastings Milledge is hurt. I don't want to see Ricky Ledee up here. Coles and Stewart are under 25 year old guys that have been lighting up AA Binghampton.
I think they have to bite the bullet and move Duke back to #2. Just make the lineup top heavy and try to generate some runs.
Results of his MRI have not been announced yet, but according to the Mets' official site Endy has "a torn left hamstring that is likely to cost the Mets their most valuable reserve for weeks." Other "nice" news: -- Easley has tendinitis under the right knee -- Alou experienced pain in his strained left quadricep while testing it by doing some running exercises before yesterday's game The most interesting stat that I saw there was this: since May 13, the Mets have won all 14 games in which they have scored three or more runs and lost all nine in which they have scored fewer than three.
With the way Endy and Lo Duca have been hitting, respectively, they should've done this a while ago. Endy's been terrible the past week or so and it's been killing us when he can't do anything if Reyes is on base in front of him (except bunt, which is also stupid). Here's hoping for a no hitter tonight because lord knows this team needs it with this offense.
I never understood moving Lo Duca in the first place. He's an ideal #2! Takes pitches, rarely strikes out, hits to the opposite field, etc. Who cares how slow he is when he's rounding the bases from another Beltran/Delgado/Wright HR. And Endy's speed doesn't help when he's in the dugout after yet another GIDP.
