wouldn't it be something if BOTH chris long and gholston are there at 6......

and the pats can pick up the leftover......%^*^%($(

we have to decide who will impact the team more.

i have not seen much of gholston yet but i did watch longs BCS game 3x...

i am not sure about him as a top 5 pick. IMO he is a very good DL and not an OLB type in a 3-4. since when do you take a DL with a top 5 pick - of course unless you are the jets.....

i believe seymour was a 6 and so was simon of the eagles. you have to absolutely be sure that long will be the second coming of seymour.

so do you give top ten money to a very good trench DL guy or the flashy OLB that may get up to 15 sacks/year.

makes for an interesting few months around here....

There was that guy Mario Williams selected #1 overall a few years back.

In the last 6 drafts you can also throw in Courtney Brown (#1 overall), Julius Peppers (#2), Darrell Russell (#2), Gerard Warren (#3) and Justin Smith (#4).

It makes more sense to say "The Falcons won't draft McFadden because they have no QB whatsoever"...

I didn't gather that was the point he was making as he mentioned that no DL are taken in the Top 5 picks.

However, in looking at those picks you are right. They were mostly the pass-rusher / put up sack numbers type players rather than the stout / occupy blockers DLs you need in the 3-4.

    Good point.

The Gholdston thing never ticked me off that much. Now Ghoulston, that pisses me off to an extreme. It's not even pronounced similarly!
