I have no problems with Tebow wanting to be the starter and yes he a very classy guy. I think what most of us jets fans want him to say. I was bought in hear to be Sanchez's back up and whatever else they want me to. Just so the media would stop with all this QB compilation bullshit.

You really want a guy who says "I'm here to be the #2" ?

Seriously ?? That's what you had last year in Brunell.

Your missing the point. All I was saying was for him to confirm why they bought him here. If he says that he not telling anybody he happy to be the back up.

They brought him here to help win games. Ask Rex.

They didn't bring him in to be the starting QB. U can say that about everybody that will make the roster.

And I've never seen Tebow EVER say that he was brought in to be the starting QB. have you ? It's not his job to "confirm" that he was brought in to be the #2 to start with. Secondly, wanting him to do that is rather stupid.

It's Rex's job to say that Tebow was brought in as the #2 and Rex has done that repeatedly, stressing that Mark is the starter, than Tebow is the #2, and that there is no QB competition.

Now, the media wants to say whatever they'll say. That's fine, it's to be expected. If you are stupid enough to believe what the media tells you, that's your problem, not Tebow's.

I don't mind if you quote me, but please either link it back to the original quote to avoid taking whatever I wrote out of context or please don't bother quoting me at all. Stay vigilant, my friend. And stay thirsty.

I don't agree with Tebow>Sanchize on everything, but it's amazing how people attack this guy like he is the biggest @sshole, but he is no different from a myriad of posters here who bash Tebow. Some of those same people now are whining about his approach when they do the same thing.

I have to agree with you. Plus I have learned since being on here that some of the mods on here will ban u just because they don't like what u say. I should know I been ban on here a lot of times. This is a public forum and everybody is allowed to have there opinion.

Sorry, but when he calls my quarterback a punk, and also says that he'll fold like a broken lawn chair, I'm not just gonna sit back and take it. Dude is a straight up piece of dog shit, no other way to put it, really.

Granted, not every jets fan on this site likes Tebow. We certainly didn't ask for this. If anything, it would have been the last thing we could have ever wanted. No one here is bashing tebow though. Sure, we're critical of him, but that doesn't mean we want him to fail. He's on our team, he is a New York Jet.

Put me on record. I like Tim Tebow. I probably like him more than most jet fans do. At first I didn't want him on my team, but Ive warmed up to him over time. It's hard not to root for him, in my honest opinion. Just don't get the impression that we all hate tebow, is all I'm asking.

And for good measure, Tebow>Sanchize is a piece of donkey shit. He doesn't know our quarterback. I'd like to think mark is handling this tebow stuff with class, better than most quarterbacks in this league would. He's not stupid, he knows the pressure is on. I know Tim will bring out the best in Mark. It'll hopefully fuel him to take the next step.

The bold is very important. If you think Tebow is getting unfairly bashed, have you seen or read the Tanny thread, Schotty thread, numerous threads about Tone, the numerous Sanchez threads (I believe there 3/4 having arguments about him going on), Kyle Wilson thread, Cromartie thread. I mean a lot of Jets other than Tebow get ripped on an equal level or worse on here.

Jets fan are programmed to be apprehensive of anything good and expect the worst. Rex has slightly changed that where more fans are more and more optimistic, but you see a lot of posters apprehensive about the players we have. It's not just Tebow that gets ripped, but since you guys are Tebow fans only you see the Tebow stuff and not everything else.

The Tone and Sanchez stuff was full out worse than this after the season. Hey you even saw we had a trade Revis thread and lot of fans didn't like Revis, the best CB in the game.

It isn't all directed at Tebow, but since most of you are fans of Tebow first or Tebow fans/not Jets fans, you don't worry or notice that other players get hated on too. You even have fans that dislike Rex and don't want him (that was a popular topic at one point and time also)

He knows he being asked about whether there is QB competition and he knows it. Rather than quell it, he walks right around it and keeps it going. He's the only person on the team leaving that question open. Ok, he doesn't have to say he's cool being a back up but he could at least acknowledge Sanchez is the starter. Hell, he could even say Rex said Sanchez is the starter. He knows what roles he is practicing for and what he is being told behind closed doors. He knows starting QB isn't it.

The safest thing for Tebow to say is that he's going to work as hard as possible at the designated role the Jets have laid out for him this year. That way, it demonstrates that he's working hard to get over his accuracy/mechanical problems AND eliminates any sort of controversy in which he's actively trying to take over Sanchez's spot as starter.

If the Jets feel like Tebow deserves the starter spot either for his over-performance in limited playing time, or Sanchez's underperformance in his more conventional role on the team, then things will take their natural course. The best thing for Tebow and the Jets to do is let Sanchez and Tebow carry out their respective roles and make a strategic decision for the both of them at a future juncture.

Whether there is an open competition for the #1 QB job or not, the #2 SHOULD ALWAYS BE GUNNING for the #1 slot, unless he's an old washed up vet who is there to mentor a younger QB.

That's it. That's what you want. That's what just about every other #2 in the league is trying to do right now. Difference ? They don't get interviewed by ESPN every day asking them about it.

This was exactly his behavior in Denver. Why would anyone expect anything different? They can also tell him behind closed doors what he needs to say, and apparently they haven't. Why do you suppose that is?

ive read an article around this time of year, every year since his last season at UF about

    "tebow changing mechanics, addressing accuracy"

he reverts to his old mechanics come game day.

ive always said Tebow has the work ethic to prove me wrong, but I will believe it when i see it.

I don't expect anything different. It's just how he is.

Were you behind those closed doors?...How do you know what he has been told?

Is there any way you can get me back there too?

Yep, and apparently the Jets coaches an management are just fine with it. This is a non-issue, except on message boards and ESPN's First Take.
