If Rex didn’t take part in the cuts it would probably have been a good thing for the Jets. Recognizing potential is not one of Rex’s strengths.

That is about as low as you can go. As Ryan noted, he will not be able to go to any more games this season, so he took the opportunity to support his son....

A man should never be chastised for supporting his child....

All Mehta and Cimini dish is crap. Listen, I don't mind a critical eye on the team, but these guys appear to have a personal / bias agenda against the team. To me, that should disqualify them from the role of "reporter".

I turned on ESPN radio for literally 30 seconds on the way to work and take a wild guess what Collin Coward was talking about?

He was ranting and raving about how it's CUT DAY, and they needed him so badly to be at the facilities for all 24 hours of the day. Lets forget the cuts were already determined Friday night, IT WAS CUT DAY WE NEED HIM TO BE THERE! PHONES DON'T EXIST!! The media goons are eating this up like pasta. They are going to be losing a LOT of listeners if they keep this nonsense up.

When even Cimini won't touch this story, you know it's complete bullshit.

I wish I knew how to contribute to getting the media to actually cover Jets football.

Boycotting and not contributing to their online clicks is productive but that only goes so far. I wish as a fan I could rant and tell off guys like Mehta on the behalf of Rex and the Jets. It's unfair that Rex can't lash out on little twerps like Mehta.

I'm so sick of the media having so much control. There is an obvious personal vendetta going on here (anything to enhance my career bullshit) and it needs to stop. It really does out a sour taste in my mouth as a fan and that's bullshit. I pay good damn money for something I love to watch and I'm a diehard fan, it's unfair to always have to hear this bullshit as a fan.

I know that was a pointless rant but it made me feel better. Sorry about that.

One thing I find comical about how ALL fanbases bash the media is the media is doing everything the fans do. read any message board and fans are whining about this player or that player or that coach and yet we whine about the media doing basically the same thing.

This is getting disgusting,Its a crime now for Rex to spend a few hours watching his son play ball.Coaches don't get to spend much time with there familys so for the media to bash him for this is a joke, and besides I'm sure Rex already okayed the cut list before hand

I wish Rex would of told the media to suck on his big toe because he shouldn't of had to explain himself to anyone.

And he couldn't support his son during the off season, when he has no work, unlike 99% of the fans do? And I just have to laugh when someone calls going to a college football game supporting a child.

    Graduation yes, football game No.....

Oh let me go to my son's football's game and party, instead of staying at work where men are getting let go and food is being taken off their family's tables.

Woody abandoned his own daughter. This is called 'Leadership by example'.

Rex needs to decide what's important.

Are you really going to sit there and hate on that decision? What if something were to happen to his son? Not to play the Devil's Advocate but still ... my son's first colleague football game? I'm going, especially if the season hasn't even started yet

Rex even confessed that his dad never had a chance to see him play; so, he wanted to go watch because he had the opportunity. Obviously, this was something personal for him.

    No big deal.

And if Idzik felt the same way, he would have told Rex not to go. Idzik let him go without any issue whatsoever, because God knows if there was one we would have heard about it, so clearly it wasn't a big fucking deal at all.

If your boss granted you a day off to do whatever you asked to do, then who would anyone else be to say that what you're taking off for isn't important enough?

I've gotten days/half days off from work to do things that would be considered "entertainment" or "fun", and I've always been under the impression that as long as my boss cleared me to not come into work, then I'm not doing anything wrong. I don't think every time someone takes a day off they're going to a graduation, funeral, or into surgery.

U know, If a reporter wanted to actually do some reporting he may have asked Rex if this his his way of showing that he's not in control of Personnel..
