Its funny seeing Hobbes call beastbeach a troll, meanwhile he is a much better poster than you... Its clear that you let your emotions get the better of you. I mean if beastbeach wasnt a Dolphins fan, would you call him a troll? Doubtful. He's a much better poster than a lot of people on here, and he actually talk football from a pretty damn objective position. Im not sure how you can possibly conclude that the play in OTA's was the same as the one vs the Patriots in the playoffs. I mean if it was, it would just further conclude that Mark Sanchez can not throw screen passes for the life of him. Being that screen passes are a huge part of MM's offense, that doesnt really bode well for him.
After a terrible 2012 season and a whole off season of criticism if you can't look good in OTA's then you must really suck.
Do you have any idea how rare DT interceptions are in any scheme? Well unless Mark is throwing the ball that is Without tape on the Sanchez throw it's impossible to be certain exactly what type of play the offense was running and the type of pass Sanchez was throwing. However we'll go with your scenario, and yes if your scenario of him not checking the full read and seeing the players between him and the receiver then yes, it is a problem. Especially since He's practiced against Rex's defenses for 4 years now coming in to this year and those types of maneuvers are fairly common from Rex in OTA's. But it's early, and without game film I'm not going to speculate, but still 3 picks on 11 passes even this early is an alarm bell. And yes I'm grading Sanchez harder than Smith, Smith is a rookie who I expect to have some issues during OTA. Mark is entering his 5th season, I gave him slack his first 4 seasons, well the 4th being the one where I said it was his make or break year.
One upside is since DTs are picking him off, he must throw a nice, catchable ball. Hear that Stephen Hill? ;-)
Here's better video of Brady's throw- http://youtu.be/0b-_F6HNlCI And since nobody has video of Sancho's errant toss to "Snacks", I have to go with the esteemed sports reporting of BI...that's right, Business Insider. New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez played horribly at the team's first open practice. Sanchez threw three interceptions and drew the disdain of head coach Rex Ryan, who, according to NFL.com, called the interceptions "unacceptable." The worst of the trio was a toss to Jets nose tackle Damon "Snacks" Harrison. Assigned to cover the running back on the play, "Snacks" easily caught the ball because it was thrown directly to him. In line to earn $8.25 million this season, Sanchez is considered the favorite to win the Jets quarterback battle. Competing against third-year player Greg McElroy and rookies Geno Smith and Matt Simms, the Jets have few choices. Combine Sanchez's inept play with his fat contract and he is utterly immovable. The starting role is his to lose. More practices like Wednesday's might do the trick. Smith, selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL and represented by Jay-Z's sporting agency, likely holds the best chance to unseat Sanchez. The former West Virginia University quarterback threw 42 touchdowns to only six interceptions his senior year but fell to the second round following uninspiring interviews and a particularly scathing review from Pro Football Weekly's Nolan Nawrocki. There is precedent for unheralded rookie quarterbacks winning the Week 1 starting job. Last season Russell Wilson won the Seattle Seahawks starting job after being drafted in the third round. Wilson led the Seahawks to playoffs with an 11-5 record and injected his name into the conversation of best rookie quarterbacks.
From his first two seasons you can see his mechanics are alright, but his decision making is awful! One interception that stands out in my mind is his red zone pick in Seattle last year. I know its easy to be an arm chair quarterback but wow....
Hey new guy... This has been discussed at length here. We've all come to the conclusion that it was a very good punt.
We've all had enough. Unfortunately, watching the NY Jets is like getting a pink belly from your older brothers. It don't stop till THEY think you've had enough.
Freeze that video, at 7 seconds. The fat blue line, for those that have trouble, is the LOS. The guy wearing white 91, is fighting his way toward the hot read. Thats the amazing DT that was nowhere in the area, and in fact he was so far out of the area, that harris runs right past him to grab the pick. Now.... FF to the OTA, rex points out, that Mangold was supposed to be blocking Snacks on that play. If you take Koppen out of that video, pouha is in a position to make a TFL. Look, theres no defending the bad throw...but PMSing over losing to the defense on that play, in May, during an OTA...is ridiculous. The design of the play, is to bring about that result. (meaning, rex expects the DT to appear out of nowhere hidden by the right side of the line, and the blitzer....if the RB makes the carch its probably a tackle for loss)Some days, you have to tip your cap to the other guy. Sanchez has more than enough flaws to be critical of. My issue here isnt the defense of Sanchez, its the retard reporting. Read Rexs transcript, and tell me how you square that with the reporting. Turnovers are unacceptable. But the pick by Snacks was nothing to be ashamed of. Except, rather than believe the guy that designed the defense...its just too easy to pile on. Fcol, read the "esteemed reporter" he doesnt mention what rex said about THAT play.but baited his article via NFL.com, with the unacceptable comment. One wonders if he was even there.
Who's PMSing? It's the Jets. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Donovan McNabb was the starter week one. I thought the article was funny...BECAUSE it was from Business Insider. My favorite line was "Snacks" easily caught the ball because it was thrown directly to him. Maybe Rex promised him a free RingDing for every interception. You're not going to see a headline that says- "Awesome Jets Defense Fools 5th year Quarterback" anytime soon. Sancho made his bed, yada yada... And yeah, great play by the defense. Now every opponent we face will be looking for it. Thanks Sanchez...and Business Insider.
Very rare. rex is right, he should have eaten the play. But look again at the link Beach posted. Try to appreciate what happened going the other way. Youll see the Pats center on as he fights down the LoS, thats the block Mangold missEd according to Rexs presser. Blitzer on the Right side of the line, LB (Harris) behind the play...and the NT, hidden from the QB by the right side if the line, and the blitzer. Once you see him...its too late. Sanchez got the worst of all possible outcomes by relying on what he thought he knew. As Rex said, he sholud have eaten it Even if the pass is completed it ends in a TFL. You have to admit, the design, (defensively) is pretty crafty.
Theyre not going to look for it,because like El nacho loco, they think the center will be on the DT. Ill be shocked, if Richardson doesnt make that play at some point this season. (not for an INT, but a TFL)
Troll boy, Rexs words. Yes, go on and troll, and say that Rex didnt specify that Mangold was blocking Snacks, and just mentioned him, well...just because..
Let me get this straight: you just assume that Freeman is just making this up? I guess you also assume that the Jets players are all behind Sanchez as starting QB? Let me let you in on a little secret - anyone with any sense in that organization has become disenSanchised with the Sanchize. You'd probably be completely shocked to learn what the players REALLY think if they were allowed to speak uncensored and without fear of repercussions. Most people wouldn't be surprised, but YOU probably would be. LOL, then you actually post a link to what the Jets Media Relations Department has to say as some kind of proof of what the real truth might be? That's laughable, dude. What does "media relations" mean to you? They'd publicly call a pile of shit a steak dinner if they could get away with it. The time of coddling Mark Sanchez should be over. The few homers left defending him are doing just that, really.
"disenSanchised" noun \dis-en-Sanchised'\ Definition of DISENSANCHISED 1- DisenSanchise: a gnawing distress arising from spending millions needlessly : self-remorse 2- obsolete : compassion See disenSanchise defined for English-language learners » Examples of DISENSANCHISE I could forgive him for what he did if he showed some improvement. The front office regrets signing Mark, and is attempting to disenSanchise themselves.
The anti-Sanchez obsession is somehow more pathetic than the pro-Sanchez crap. I'm concerned that, instead of being himself, Rex is just saying whatever he thinks he needs to say in order to save his job. 80 to 90% of everyone hates Mark Sanchez. Sadly more of those 80-90% don't understand how salary cap management works when dealing with an exorbitant contract with more dead money than salary owed.
