True. Even at his worst, Wilson never had games as bad as NW and Indiana.

don shula is on record saying the main reason they took marino back in the day was his uber quick release which reminded him of namath.

a quick release is a QBs greatest asset.

He’s also never faced defenses with exotic coverages/blitzes like Indiana and Northwestern either.

This is part of the problem with the NFL. They continue to apply rules from 30-40 years ago to the modern day game.

I don’t think anyone should owe anyone an apology. We’re just having heathy debates. There’s nothing wrong with disagreement.

It’s not like folks were making personal attacks.

You been fishing for an apology or some kind acknowledgment over your Allen pick for a while now. On behalf of TGG, I like to extend our sincerest apology for whoever called you an idiot. You nailed that one. Great job on identifying Allen.

    I'm numb.

Surrounded by a bunch of people that think taking a QB with multiple potential bust flags is an exciting way to spend solid gold.

People who think continually drafting top 5 QBs onto crummy teams, before they are rebuilt, is a good way to rebuild, and an acceptable way to develop a QB. A QB who is a long ways from being NFL ready.

People who think having draft picks means your team is already rebuilt.

Oh boy. He's has been injured three of his last four seasons. The only season he stayed healthy was against the biggest joke D1 schedule in college history, teams that couldn't even generate a pass rush. That's worth 4-5 firsts and seconds?

Its almost like the entire league is playing a joke on us. I keep expecting Alan Funk to jump out of the bushes and say, "surprise".

The statement was firsts and seconds.

And we'll never know. Because while JD was exploring all options he refused to talk to anybody - except to let them know what our pick was going to be.

no such thing as a perfect prospect. every QB had bust potential and red flags. mahomes, watson, allen, jackson, etc all had red flags and bust potential.

    Mahomes 10th
    Watson 12th
    Allen 7th
    Jackson 32nd.

With the possible exception of Allen, none of them had the flags Wilson does at 2nd.

Major difference in draft capital here. Never have we seen the 2nd pick have more trade value then it had this season.

that's just recency bias. the 2nd pick has always been worth the same. your also overblowing wilsons red flags and understating the red flags of others.
the chiefs gave up a lot to move up for mahomes, bills gave up a lot to move up for allen. ravens gave up a lot to move up for jackson. we are just picking at our spot. not like we did a niners and gave up the farm to draft someone with a lot of red flags

that's just simply not true. An absurd statement. Hell there were scouts that wanted to make Lamar Jackson a running back for God's sakes he had so many red flags in the passing game

What does that tell you about the term “red flags”? I will say none of those guys had shoulder surgery.

It tells us nothing because it was a cherry picked list of guys. Trubisky, Darnold, Haskins, Jones, all had red flags and they suck. What does that tell us about red flags?

nothing because its a different cherry picked list of guys :D
