I'll play devil's advocate here even though I'm on the same page as you regarding Zach. A big selling point of Wilson was that he was reportedly very smart and a very hard worker. I'm holding out hope that's true, but it's just hope for now since he hasn't proven it yet. We will learn a lot next season, good or bad. There's also the aspect that when you have physical gifts you're going to naturally fall back on them when plays go bad. That was one of my concerns with Fields - he's such a gifted athlete that I thought he'd fall back on that and run more than was optimal. Wilson has a great arm and is really mobile but that can be a bad thing if he uses those gifts to cover up for going through his reads slowly or incorrectly. Jones has no choice but to be elite at the nuances of being a QB because that's all he has.
I think currently Zach is the better QB and I would take him over Mac heading into 2022. Mac had a better rookie season though. I liked all 5 QB's coming out last year. Mac was the one I was the least sure about just due to his athletic ability. People forget I am a huge Chad Pennington fan. Mac reminds me a lot of him. I just feel like it will be tough to win a Super Bowl with that kind of QB these days. He is in the right spot in New England. I don't think he would succeed on the Jets.
"Potential" was a the most common word thrown around last draft season by those who were sold on Zach. A year later and its still the buzz word. It is a bad sign that were still at the potential phase. "Potential means you have done anything yet." Bill Parcells
I don't really care bout PFF ...most of the time The eye test and the opinions you all have on the GG are pretty accurate Decent Draft Class but all the players have to prove it on the field starting next season
Many elite QB skills: strong arm, accurate arm, decision-making ability, leadership skills, a feel for the pass rush, ability to make different types of throws, running ability, ability to escape the pass rush.
