even when faced with the above analysis you will say he's garbage? he's clearly not garbage...he's clearly an average QB.

    Playoff analysis... Nm

Fitz has never led a NFL team anywhere. He's a bum. Geno will easily beat fitz.

This is it... Now or never for him.

Time to step up and play big. Even more important, play smart; realize the value of the football.

    Make it a open competition.

    May the best man win.

No doubt about that. I'm not a huge fan of Geno going back to college, the kid has the physical talents you want in a QB, I can't deny the kid has so much potential. If he plays smart, we are going to be a very dangerous team. I hope he proves the doubters wrong.

What would also be interesting would to be to see how Vick/ Sanchez fared in this analysis. My guess is that Fitzpatrick has a higher FLOOR than those two which would make our QB situation potentially the best it's been in some time.

I was especially surprised by the deep ball commentary for Fitzpatrick, too.

I don't believe Bowles will show the same kind of commitment to a player as Rex. I believe, and only time will tell, that he will play the best players and/or the players that give the team it's best chance to win. If Geno retains the #1 QB job into the regular season I don't view it as a season long designation. I view it more of an extended audition.

This really surprised me. Although I thought Fitz was the slightly more polished player today, Geno's upside would be convincing enough to get the job. However, after looking at these numbers, it does seem like Fitz had the advantage. Not to mention that Fitz knows the offense. I think and hope Fitz is our QB now.

i dont find it weird at all.... when you blitz, there are less guys in coverage, easier to find the 1 on 1. sure you speed up the progress, but for a guy who can scramble thats less of an issue.

with a normal rush you have 7 or 8 guys in coverage. harder to find the 1 on 1, and easier to lock down his crutch targets if he has one. also, most importantly, easier to take away the first read.

with the first read gone, and more guys to ball hawk, geno struggles

this is a pretty biased comparison. more like

a veteran statue who has had some success and an up and down career

    vs

a young kid who had a horrible first 2 seasons, although he didnt have alot around him to help him out

Geno is not dumb. I'm sure he is very level headed but when it comes to Q'backing :

Then lets put Geno #2 on the depth chart, and make him climb over Fitz, the way he could not do with Sanchez

Open competition Geno will win with ease. Fitz sucks. Love for fitz to prove me wrong. He's awful.

Geno is athletically the more talented player. Hopefully a decent OC will be able to mange him

Fitz does not suck... and even if he does suck, that suck hasnt kept him from producing at at least an average level, sometimes better. geno with all his athleticism, has produced nothing but cow turd.

lets let him beat fitz out, if its such a forgone conclusion he will, then no harmin asking him too, right?

Fitz is better now at backup. He is better off with that. But Smith needs to prove he deserves the starting job. It is year 3 for him and you thought he would earn it by now.

Case by case comparison. What has fitz had to work with? What has Geno had to work with? Fitz sucks.

    Geno wins with ease, bet.

so its better to be terrible with sucky WRs then it is to be average with average receivers?

    i find that logic puzzling
