i agree for the most part, but i doubt colon is back ... i think we use one of those 4 picks in the first three rounds on a RG but i still want us want to make a big run at jimmy graham, and if he's franchised jermichael finley ... if we cant get either of those guys, bring back cumberland
No way that happens. The tag for OL is near $10 million. He'll get offered a contract, but there is no way he will get tagged.
O-line looked WAAAAY better in Atlanta without Ducasse, don't need any numbers to tell me that. It just passed the eye test better, with better push and no penalties (duuuh, no Vlad!). I don't understand why they stuck with Vlad so long, it was so obviously clear he was a dud. BIG VLAD!
I can't fully evaluate, I can just go by what I see and I see a QB w/ time and holes for the RBs- 2 things we rarely saw a year ago.
To be fair, Atlanta's d-line and LB corps are terrible and featured two undrafted free agent rookies.
For a stretch of games, Geno was also sitting in the pocket forever with the ball and taking sacks, which didn't help.
My grades so far: Brick: B- (under achieving based on the high standard set) Vlad: D (about what I expected) Winters: B- (on a curve with limited sample set..did have a turnstile moment Monday) Mangold: B Colon: B- Howard: A- (over achieving)
Why are you surprised about Howard? Howard was an elite Run Blocking RT last year and while definitely needed to improve his Pass Blocking was receiving a lot of praise from the coaches after the last season which should have give you some idea that he was going to get better overall this year
