We might have to dump a couple veterans but I think we would have drafted cheaper replacements.

Yes, you just read in peoples draft plan posts, that they keep a certain amount to one side for the new draftees and I was wondering what it would cost if you drafted half a squad in one fell swoop lol

The rookie salary scale is fixed so it is just a matter of doing the math.

    Spotrac is a good resource.

There was one forced trade but I did that by accident, I clicked the box for force trade and didn't notice as I was altering the terms.

This is a no-trade simulation to estimate what our draft might look like if KT drops to us. I've used The Draft Network simulator:
    • 4.
      New York Jets
      Kayvon Thibodeaux
      EDGE, Oregon

    • 10.
      New York Jets
      Treylon Burks
      WR, Arkansas

    • 35.
      New York Jets
      Zion Johnson
      IOL, Boston College

    • 38.
      New York Jets
      Trey McBride
      TE, Colorado State

    • 69.
      New York Jets
      Damone Clark
      LB, LSU

    • 109.
      New York Jets
      Channing Tindall
      LB, Georgia

    • 115.
      New York Jets
      Josh Jobe
      CB, Alabama

    • 145.
      New York Jets
      Justyn Ross
      WR, Clemson

    • 162.
      New York Jets
      Kennedy Brooks
      RB, Oklahoma

EDIT: I also was able to get the first four picks (KT, Burks, Johnson, McBride) on the PFF simulator. These four players may well be available for the Jets if KT continues to fall.
The other players in the PFF were LB's Asamoah and Quay Walker at 69 and 115; CB Goodrich at 109; TE Ferguson at 145; and RB Brooks at 162.

Here's my first attempt using Pro Football Network's Draft Simulator:

    https://www.profootballnetwork.com/mockdraft/

    4. Evan Neal
    OT Alabama

    10. Jermaine Johnson
    EDGE Florida State

    35.Trey McBride
    TE Colorado State

    38.John Metchie III
    WR Alabama

    69.Channing Tindall
    LB Georgia

    116.Yusuf Corker
    S Kentucky

    120. James Cook
    RB Georgia

    146.Dontario Drummond
    WR Mississippi

    158.Mike Rose
    LB Iowa State

    163.Bubba Bolden
    S Miami-Fl

Not perfect, but I'd be pretty happy if things worked out like this.

Just got the perfect 4 rd draft of the PFF simulator.

Ojobo must have had a great combine bc he went 2 to the Lions.

    #4 - Hutch

4 EDGES went along with 2 CB an LB while ATL and Den took WRs…. All realistic picks (esp if Denver trades for Rodgers and GB looks to replace Adams) leaving

    #10 - S Hamilton

    #35 LB Lloyd

    #38 G Zion Johnson

    #68 WR Skyy Moore

    #108 TE Ruckert

    #114 RB Algeier

Sorry, using the first three picks on "D" doesn't do it for me.

If there was no such thing as free agency, I’d be right there with you. Luckily it does exist.

That PFF Simulator is fun, thanks for sharing.

    Trade: #4 for #8, 40, and 2023 2nd.
    8. Ahmad Gardner, Sauce, CB:
    10. David Ojabo, Edge:
    Trade: #36 and #108 for #26.
    26. Jahan Dotson, WR:
    38. Zion Johson, G:
    40. Devonte Wyatt, DI:
    68. Channing Tindall, LB:
    114: Tyler Smith, T:
    145: Greg Dulcich TE:
    161: Rachaad White, RB:

    General comments:
The top 2 edge rushers were off the board, so I chose to move back a few spots to acquire another top 40 pick. There will be a lot of good options in this range, plus it gave me more flexibility to move up if needed.

It's no secret I love Sauce. He hasnt allowed a TD since HS, and allowed less than 200yds against all season. I know many don't value CB, however in Salehs stops in Jacksonville and Seattle, he had Ramsey and Sherman, which helped elevate the unit. Yes, he had very good fronts, and with the depth of this draft, I chose to wait until pick 10, where I grabbed Ojabo. His upside is as high as anyone in this class, and he has the work ethic and leadership skills to fully meet his potential.

In the middle of round 1 there was a run on WRs, so I decided to make a trade for a player I really like in Dotson. I know his skill set is similar to Elijah's, and it would be good to add a WR with Size, but I couldn't resist. He's got both long speed and short are quickness, he's sudden in his route running, creates separation, good ball skill, YAC, and versatile. He can do it all, and the more of these guys you have the better.

I liked the OL prospects that dropped to me. Zion would be a day one starter at RG, that has LG/center flexibility. Smith is a high upside swing tackle for us, with coaching on technique he could be a future starter at RT. He has athleticism and nastiness to his game. If he fails outside he'd be a mauler RG, and we could kick Zion to Center, when we decide to move on from McGovern.

Regarding TE, I missed on my top guy Ruckert by a few picks, but the consolation prize is pretty good in Dulcich. He'd be a nice option for Zach to move the chains and attack the seam. He's pretty athletic as a converted WR. Hes versatile, and they moved him around a lot. Blocking is not his strength, but he gives effort. Would need to add a blocking TE in FA.

As much as I like the players you took and their value you really can't get the best results unless you make some trades.

Staying put at four for Thibodeaux is hard to criticize but there are plenty of other first rounders that aren't far off from Burks that could be had cheaper.

This one was a lot of fun.

If you work the phones until they bleed you can get this haul:

    15 Ahmad Gardner CB Cincinnati
    16 Jameson Williams WR Alabama
    23 David Ojabo EDGE Michigan
    26 Drake London WR USC
    35 Perrion Winfrey DT Oklahoma
    2023 CAR 1st
    2023 CAR 2nd

I did trade away our fourth and seventh rounders in 2023 to make this happen.

Added pass rush, a run stuffer, a nasty cover corner, and two studs at receiver while adding two valuable picks for the future.

All we need now is a Panthers voodoo doll.

Here is one for the ages:

5 Kyle Hamilton S Notre Dame
12 Garrett Wilson WR Ohio State
    17 Ahmad Gardner CB Cincinnati
    28 Nakobe Dean LB Georgia

46 Isaiah Spiller RB Texas A&M
59 Kingsley Enagbare EDGE South Carolina

    100 Nik Bonitto EDGE Oklahoma

I had to trade away our fourth and fifth round picks to get Bonito but I think I made the right call.

Special thanks to the Giants who swapped both first round picks with us and then traded up from 10 to 7 to add Evan Neal and Kenyon Green to their offensive line.

I doubt this will ever happen, but if it did, I'd be happy with it. This is an example of where trading up to get the player(s) you believe will help sooner is a good use of resources.
