Much ado about nothing. Mike Vick is a Jet. Glad to have him on the team.

Probably not. I'd be shocked if there wasn't a contract worked out where the Jets pay them to use their facilities. They then have to hold up their end of the bargain by letting the Jets settle in and bring whoever they want.

College campuses often places where students want to protest, and that's fine. But the college won't want to give up the money they get from the Jets, the extra tourists in the region, and maybe risk a lawsuit by turning them away. If they banned Vick, the entire team would leave, not just Vick. It's an easy way for the college to make some extra money, and I just don't see them wanting to end that relationship.

I'm sure that Pace is right in that a lot of Jets don't really like Cortland, but some of the things they don't like are part of the reasons the Jets go there. It's out in the middle of nowhere, so there's not that much else to do, and players don't like that. They're forced to spend more time hanging out with each other, and the Jets hope that that leads to stronger bonds between the teammates. The biggest thing, though, is that since it is so far away from NYC, it's not quite as easy for the media to get there and create distractions. I'm sure they send people all the time, but it's much more expensive for the newspapers to send people there compared to Long Island or wherever, so it'll lead to less Jets stories and less distractions.

It IS the same. I don't eat burgers for my survival. I eat them for my enjoyment. And your argument is flawed. You're acting like you have so much compassion for animal rights but then turn around and say essentially "animals have rights until we need them. Then we're free to literally mince them in a grinder into pulp." That is pretty inconsistent.

If you're eating animals or wearing/using leather- news flash- you are not supporting "animal rights." Have you ever seem how the millions of chickens we eat are raised? Just because you have a middle man doesn't erase the fact that they're obviously being abused. And being bred for abuse is no excuse either.

What next, ban all hunting? Is Favre now a sadistic criminal too? This whole thing is fraught with inconsistency.

Cows are bred to eat in your opinion. Don't you see the contradiction in what you're saying? By your logic as long as I make the decision in advance to eat an animal then I can breed it and kill it. Who are you to say which animals are worthy if being minced?

And I'm sorry to say this but DOGS ARE NOT HUMANS. Comparing a pitbull to a child just reveals how nonsensical this whole argument is.

    Nothing about PETA.

    Nothing about trees.

    Nothing about hugging.

    Welcome, Falco.

No because a baby in the womb was not bred to sniff out drugs and bombs and things of that sort.

They were Vick's dogs. He did not take anyone's dog and kill them. He did not steal a service dog and kill them.

Are you this mad when the circus comes to town? They use electric prods on animals all the time. And for what? To get them to dance and balance balls on their noses. Are circus workers evil, sadistic criminals too?

I wonder if they protest the good folk in Cortland who bow hunt for deer. You know where you maim a deer repeatedly for hours with arrows before slicing its neck to finish it off after it's been thoroughly tortured and traumatized.

Just a bunch of people in a town that has nothing going on at all trying to make a name for themselves. Reality is they need the jets much more than the jets need cortland..

Ha, ha. You can't make this stuff up.

Because people that have a problem with Vick are likely proponents of genocide and killing babies, as he puts it. It is all well documented that the Vick "haters" have no problem with some of the worst things imaginable, and so pointing out this obvious truth sets the foundation of an argument with integrity.

I really can't imagine that this is going to do a damn thing. Look, honestly I wanted the Jets to sign Vick, because of what he can do on the field, but that doesn't mean I don't feel sick thinking about what he did. That being said, people are raised in different worlds. I don't really know how he grew up but I've seen countless people mistreat animals in numerous different ways, and at a point you just have to sort of realize it's the way they were raised. People are waisting their time with this petition and if you want to actually do something about mistreated animals, there are so many more fruitful ways to use your time. It's a perfect example of how stupid people can be and how they latch on to crap.

Where do I begin. First, Michael Vick does not need your endorsement. That is a little self-righteous don't you think. Suny Cortland letting the Jets use their campus for training is not an endorsement of Michael Vick. If it constittutes an endoresemnt (which I do not think it does) it is an endoresement of the NY Jets. Thus, if the petition called for the school to reject the team and the money that comes with the use ot the facilities, because they signed Michael Vick I could respect that becuase that is truly standing on principle. I would not agree with it but I could respect it. But to tell the Jets they can bring their entire team but one player and their money is the antithesis of standing on principle. It actually looks malicious.

If you have a problem with the fact that he was not suspended he was out of the game for two years, apparrently the commissioner thought it was long enough. Again if you have a problem with that send your concerns to the comissioner.

Finally, fact of life: Atheletes get chances the common man will not receive. Why? because they have special physical gifts and those gifts are valuable. I am not saying it is fair, but it is true nonetheless.

If you read more then the one or two posts you felt you could make a point again (which you have not) you would understand
i am faaaaaaar from any type of "animal activist". Most of your "points" have already been debunked. Either read back or stop
quoting me. The shit is boring saying the same thing over and over. If you cant understand why some people consider
pets more thenn just an animal. Then you are probably a sociopath and any further discussion of this would there fore be
    irrelevant.

When all else fails, just try to name-call.

A dog is a pet to YOU. In other countries they're lunch. In India, cows are borderline deities. Should you now be jailed and called evil for eating a burger??

It's all SUBJECTIVE. Many people consider their cows their pets. They name them, walk them and play with them. Just because you don't rank them as high as the mighty dog does not invalidate their beliefs. But my greater point is that there is ZERO consistency to this. You cannot claim any type of moral high ground when you support wholesale slaughter and abuse of "inferior animals", who aren't cuddly or smart enough to qualify as your pet.

Just let it go- unless you're against hunting, eating meat, circuses, wearing fur, etc., you have no moral ground. If you want to hate Vick, go right ahead. But don't feign a logical, coherent position.
