Also if you did not know. Every single state in this country equates a dogs life to a humans if he serves his country as a law enforcement official and or a public service dog. The association was with how the animal is treated and destroyed before becoming a meal. That treatment is comparable to the actions of dog fighters. This is something most meat eaters ignore for their own moral comfort. I, as a meat eater, care little how they're treated as long as they taste good. Separating the treatment of animals on a basis of which ones you enjoy consuming and which ones you like to have around your kids is something a person does for their own moral comfort. And a person who places the life and liberty of an animal, any animal, over that of any human being is disgusting.
You might want to consider it a little more as it is already scientifically proven that humane slaughter reduces some of the toxins found in typical meats (pig/cow/chicken). And that doesn't even begin to discuss the health differences between food factory meats and organic (free-range) meats & fish. But that's a debate for another time.
First congrats. This is the first point driven post you have made in this thread. One of my posts in this thread explains that i understand my issue with Vick and him being a Jet is a personall issue and not one i think the masses should incorperate as it would violate so many rights of people as far as law is concerned. Aside from that i don't separate the worth of the animal or human by the pretense of what their lifes purpose is but more so on what they contribute. Are there cows and chickens that can be trained to sniff out drugs/bombs/find escaped fugitives? Will a cow attack a man that breaks into your home? Will a pig give its life to save your child? I do eat meat dialy and at some point in my life im sure i have eaten the product of a processing plant that has abused and or cause undue suffering. Today as an educated adult i make decision to spend extra for what i have found to be the right companies to deal with. I cant be 100% sure they use the same process that claim to but i do my best to make sure i do. As far as the difference between which ones taste good and which ones i want around my kids. I will choice the one that will die to protect my child 100% of the time. Very few species in this world are KNOWN to die while trying to protect someone other then someone of their own species. Also if you dont care if the animals you eat were abused then i am very sorry for you. Compassion is one of the lost loves in this world today and is a huge part of the reason we lack love for our fellow humans also.
Are you seriously unaware that if you kill any type of public service dog you are charged the same as if killing a human public service worker? Or are you just ignoring the fact iw as specific about that?
What's REALLY stupid is that people would be the least be surprised that backlashes like this are happening. Of course they are. Gotta love the irrational rationalizations that try to excuse Vick's past behavior in any way. One of my favorites is how other people did other bad things, and that somehow frees up Vick's culpability. "What about this guy that did this?" As if two wrongs make a right. Nevermind that I wouldn't want those other people on my team either, generally. Then there is the "you eat meat" argument, which is retarded. We are talking about a person whose ONLY motivation was to torture and kill animals for his own gleeful enjoyment, actually getting off on it. He did it countless of times for years as part of his lifestyle, and I'm supposed to forget all about that? Stand up and cheer for him because he plays football? Again, ANYBODY that takes pleasure in the deliberate torture and killing of animals strictly for fun is not a person that I would want on my team. I don't give a fuck about what anybody has ever done in the history of mankind. People can always point to Hitler to defend somebody else, so thank God for Hitler if you ever do something despicable. And there is this ridiculous rationalization...dogs are not people. What's so great about people? It can be argued that people are animals with a different "value" placed upon them. Dogs do not have less of a capacity to feel pain than people do....and call me crazy or ignorant, but I'm not on board with people that torture and kill them for their own amusement...ONLY for their own amusement. A guy and his buddy swing a dog over their heads and repeatedly slam it into the ground because it lost a brutal fight they arranged...just one incident in a string of many over several years. Then people turn around with much chagrin if you don't want to forget it. I'll never forget it, regardless of his jail-time, which is another rationalization. Like we somehow owe it to him to forget about what he did, forget what we believe in, and actually stand up and cheer for the man. Uh-uh.

Over 66,000 people singed a petition only in 2014 against him being a keynote speaker at some event in Carolina. You should google or something before quoting me. Killing a public service dog gets you charged the same as a human. Public service dogs includeCops dogs, fire dogs, dogs that work with emt's and other search and rescue operations ect ect ect. Ahhh well if someone can make the comparison of dogs lives being worth no more then animals we eat why is it stupid to bring up the actions and services dogs bring compared to the animals we eat?
There are several petitions over vicks clothing line his endorsement with nike ect ect ect. NJ/NY is already huge on activist rights with all the dog fighting that was and continues to go on in these states. I was blown away when he was brought in. Never thought it would happen.
