I don't trust QBs of college teams that have ten times as much talent as their opponents. Is Sanchez appreciably better than what we have? Do we know that for sure? I don't think there is a QB in the draft who is going to help us. Maybe Stafford, but we are not getting him.

in all fairness, aren't we waiting for 'every' player on the team to decide if they'll come back next year or retire?

The scary thing is that it's clear the Jets actually want him back. I'd bet all my vCash that Woody is behind that. The drama should be over. The Jets should just cut him as soon as possible and be done with the ass.

He knows he's not coming back. Favre is drama queen and want's the whole world to wait for the big decision so he can cry in a press confrence so King and ESPN can blow him and play gay music with video in slow motion like someone died. All the while telling us he's a hall famer and little kid at heart. I want to vomit. Meanwhile, the Jet orginization is an afterthought to this guy and the moment he quits, he's a Packer for life and never played for our team. He's a douche bag

Yes, I remember the tearful press conference that Nick Mangold had last offseason before he retired and unretired.

The article went on to say "King met his source at a rural park and ride, and through the mumble of a blow job he heard "Frumphisncmmbk"

Obviously that meant "Favre isn't coming back"

Actually, the parallels with last year are not there at all. Not for me anyway, and i was there (literally). 2006 and 2007 maybe, but not 2008.

Last year just about everyone and their dog in Green Bay and the state of Wisconsin assumed he'd come back, after how he played & how close he came the previous season, on a team that was 2nd youngest in the league and had all major players under contract already & 30m of cap room to go out and get more. There was the least drama in at least three years ... to start with. It was a shock to almost everyone when the news came out he was going to retire.

p.s. Favre's agent is Bus Cook, and yes, you should assume that Bus Cook will stir the pot. He did a LOT more stirring than Favre did last year. He started saying almost immediately, even before the retirement PC, that the Packers were trying to force Favre out.

He could totally RALLY the fanbase.... fly to NY tomorrow--- hold a press conference.... tell the fans... "I want to be back. I will be back. And I am GOING FOR IT this year. We WILL win a Super Bowl or I will die trying."

That would SHUT EVERYONE UP.... the fans would be pumped behind him. But no. The days waiting for King Favre to make up his lil mind drag on and on.....

That worked for Roger Clemens a few years back. People were going nuts.

On the off-chance he actually does something like that, I want to be on record right now as saying that won't do much for me. Certainly won't shut me up. I knew what Brett Favre was before he ever put on a Jets uniform. I just didn't realize how painful it can be to watch as he flushes a game down the toilet. Frankly, I don't think there's any amount of off-season training and conditioning that will keep that from happening again. Brett Favre is done. D-O-N-E. I don't need him to finish me off as well.

We're not going to move forward until we get the Jet's next QB in house. I'm assuming that both Tannenbaum and Ryan realize this, which may be giving them more credit than they deserve. Woody on the other hand may not realize that Favre is a poison pill, he's not the most experienced owner and he has not done a good job of surrounding himself with people who do understand the business of football. Hopefully it's just a learning curve that he's going through and we'll get improvement over the next few years. Leon Hess was the only reason the Jets were bad for as long as they were, everything that went wrong was a symptom of a fish with a very rotten head. Wouldn't want to go through that again.
