I don't know if that's evidence that Anderson should be pigeon holed as a lazy route runner. Gase has forced him to expand his route tree this year and he looked noticeably better as the year went on attacking the ball and running a variety of routes competently. Maybe getting called out in public and coached up in private is what he needed to grow as a player? I'm not the biggest Gase fan but I am happy that him and JD have a synergy. JD will get the feedback he needs to make a decision on Robby. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
that's not robby at all but it actually is half of rodgers WRs. why do you think he berates them? only one he trusts is adams so he feeds him all the time. the rest of their WRs are garbage and rodgers still makes it work
It really is. But we won't get into the pissing match over it because I know your stance on him and you know mine. There's a reason he gets absolutely swallowed by good corners. He can feast on #2's with his speed which is why he's a decent enough piece.
I just know there's nothing like home grown talent. Something about a homegrown talent. You do not want to lose out on homegrown pieces that are super talented as Robby Anderson is. It sets your team back. Robby Anderson has produced as a #1 WR. Made a name for himself as one of the NFL's best deep threats as a speed burner. Line him up opposite of a Jeudy/Lamb and forget about it; Robby Anderson is going to light up opposing #2 CB's and give Sam Darnold an awesome weapon at the same time. Manning had Harrison and Wayne. I'd love for Darnold to grow with Jeudy/Anderson.
If Mims is gone there are plenty of talented alternatives at WR all the way into even the fourth round. I wouldn't be surprised to see two WRs drafted even if Robby is signed.
I agree about the talent @ the WR position i feel it's the strongest heading into a draft since the year of i believe Beckham Jr. Sammy Watkins. Mike Evans. Brandon Cooks. Kelvin Benjamin etc, etc i loved that class. But if we sign Robby Anderson there's no way within the first 4 rounds that we'd draft two WR's when we could have a trio of say Jeudy/Anderson/Crowder (sick trio of WR's) with a pass catching TE in Herndon followed by a great pass catching RB in Le'Veon Bell (over 60 receptions for us out of the backfield last year). WR1: Jeudy/Lamb. Slot: Jamison Crowder. WR2: Robby Anderson. TE: Chris Herndon. HB1: Le'Veon Bell. Those are plenty of pass catching weapons for Sam Darnold to utilize so with our remaining picks if we take a WR round 1 after re-signing Robby Anderson? I much rather see us attack more O-Line, Edge Rusher/CB etc before another WR when we could be fully loaded with pass catching options heading into 2020.
whos the WR who just had sports hernia surgery right after combine? Hes a speedster and was ranked top 5 WR in most mocks.....sounds like he"ll drop into 2nd round now. Perhaps we re-sign Robby, draft Becton and get a top WR in round 2? Laviska Shenault CO
I've been watching some cut ups of Mims, dude is a monster. Crazy ball skills and is a violent blocker. Sign me up for a combination of him and Van Jefferson.
You could be right. However I can see a scenario where EDGE ( along with other positions ) is addressed in FA. I then could see something along the lines of OT, C, maybe CB, and 2 WRs within the first four rounds and of course we can't forget about possible trade downs. I don't think there's much depth as of now with WR except for Crowder. So if Robby is resigned that could still leave an opening for 2 drafted WRs.....
Yeah imagine getting Becton and Mims in the first two rounds? Talk about adding physicality to the offensive side of the ball!
I want a big receiver, either Pittman or Claypool will do; it's been way too long since the Jets had that guy. Darnold needs a guy who can go high for the ball and also go wide when necessary. ??????, Anderson and Pittpool work for me. Crowder and Herndon fill out the corps.
This I agree on. If we don't resign Anderson double down in the 2nd/3rd and get Mims/Shenault and Claypool/Pittman. But we need a big target for Darnold. If we have a speed wr, big body 50/50 ball wr, plus Crowder and Herndon, Darnold will excel. O line and wr should be the focus.
I'm reading that the Jets are "trying" to re-sign Robby before the start of free agency. LOL what does that mean? Did they "try" to sign Trumaine Johnson? No they got it done. What a awful football player he was. Or this Jake Conklin I'm hearing about? But with Robby they're "trying". Sounds like a steaming load of horse____ to me.
