I think Robbie is worth 10-12. That's comparable to Tyrell Williams. That's his ceiling. No he's not a wr1 and going to put up numbers like Thomas, Hopkins, or Julio. But paired with a big bodied, 50/50 ball receiver he can easily hit 1000 yards as long as Darnold is protected. No I wouldn't pay 13-15, but I don't think Robbie has reached his potential. Give us an o line and another good receiver and I think our offense could be exceptional. That said he's replaceable if he asked to much. I would love to keep him and would offer 12 per year. We won't get him at 10. SF, KC, or NE will offer that much. Maybe even Tennessee.
Yeah as really wonder if Robbie decides to stay. They will have to show him the money. But also it shows how much confidence they have in him.
Fans here think you can replace talent and chemistry with cheap priced FAs. Apparently fans still haven't learned their lesson. People still bashing his weight need to get a life. That old age saying, It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog!
but this dog, Robby Anderson, doesn't show as much fight as he needs to. That's the problem. He doesn't fight for balls in traffic.
That TD against the Steelers says otherwise. Also had a great TD catch with 2 defenders against the Panthers. I think we all acknowledged that he's not an all pro type receiver that can do anything but it's evident he's one of the best deep threats in the league.
Rumors are saying he's asking for more, but we don't know until the start of FA when he signs. I hope he comes back. Jets need draft flexibility.
Not sure I agree that he is as bad as you imply, but there is some truth to it certainly. However, I don't think you can really judge a deep threat receiver when you have a shit oline and a QB running for his life all the time. Even with 4.2 speed it takes more than 4 seconds to get 40 yards down the field, and Sam RARELY had that much time to throw the ball this year or last. Fix the oline and Sam gets 5 or 6 seconds to wait out a go route. Then you'll see Anderson blow the top off the defense with regularity - and they mostly won't be contested balls either, Sam will hit him in stride. If this were already the case a lot of people would be singing a different tune about Robbie leaving.
Sam also needs to improve his accuracy down the field too. If we had consistent QB play, he would've had 1000+ yards this year for sure. Nagle is just blowing smoke tho
I trust JD is going to bring in a few options prior to the draft. Losing the chemistry will be a hit for sure though.
Breshad Perriman might be an interesting pickup as he seems to be unbusting, but that list of FAs does not give me confidence we'll be able to replace what Robby brought to the table.
Improving the line would benefit everyone, yes. But a wide receiver is always gonna be counted on to catch balls in traffic. It's a desire thing with Anderson sometimes
I think we’re looking at sanders or Jeffries as an established vet, a couple of disappointments,Perriman, marquis lee, Geronimo Allison and than a couple of draft picks.
Bottom of the barrel... I hate how this team just continues to create holes. But what can ya do. In JD I trust I suppose.
its a mistake to believe that. Last week this was the justification for overpaying Robby Anderson. today we hear Stefon Diggs and Beckham Jr. are available, so you can add them to the last. Tomorrow it might be some other pro bowler that becomes available. By March it might be 5 more of them. who knows. when you look a player and consider signing him, you should look at his value alone. The question is, is Robby Anderson worth a multi-year deal at $13+ million per year....or not
Personally, I am hoping they don't make Conklin the highest paid RT or Schreff as the highest paid G. I would much rather go after Thuney (who might command a little less), maybe a few other Tier 2 FAs like Quinton Spain (G) from the Bills. Bring back Poole, Jenkins and Robby ... maybe look at some depth signings as well. Get some studs in the draft. JD we trust tho
In a vacuum I agree. Not in a hard cap sport though. It’s all about allocation of resources. The market is going to dictate what Robbie is worth. The question will be would have been worth it to give him that v what we end up doing with those resources. Ftr I’d bring Robbie back at something around 3/13 per. Add a bunch of years and dummy money to make it easier on the first year. But if he isn’t, my judgement will be based on the offseason as a whole.
Corey Davis might get released from the Titans. Might be a good reclamation project. Former first rounder.
